Lunch Break

628 Words
"What are you doing here after the bell " I came back to a sense when Sachin asked me this. The time was 10:20 am and I was supposed to be in the class by 10:15. Suddenly, panic struck me, what will I do, would I be in some kind of trouble because of this that too on the last day of school? "i***t why are you always overthinking the situations" I again come yo to consciousness because of him. "You are thinking of being in trouble right Mr overthinker" He had a smile on his face He continued "Just think if you are in trouble, then I am also. I am with you now right? He is right I just thought of myself. He was also in trouble. " Why are you even here?" I asked. "Look outside Mr overthinker." He replied lazily. There was a crowd outside the library. "Are they going to the auditorium?" I asked. "They are" he replied gazing through a newspaper on the table. "I forget," I said in a lazy way "I know," Sachin said as he was chuckling. "How could I?" I asked myself "You are always in your dream world dude" And continued to say without letting me reply " We just have to snug in through them. I won't help you if you get lost in them."He said cunningly as he walked towards the door "Can we start??"I asked with a smile He nodded In an instant, we reached the auditorium I don't remember what happened in the auditorium. It was boring and I was not in the mood for listening to all those things. The only thing in my head was Sreya. I wanted to know what happened to her. But how? I wasn't getting an answer for that. I was just asking myself " Where did it all go wrong" "Did I do something wrong " I feel like my heart is gonna burst. Somehow one and a half hours passed. That means two periods after the break was over. Now it's our lunchtime. I didn't feel like eating, but I washed my hands and went to my class. I sat in my place and I took my lunchbox out. I opened my lunchbox slowly. Suddenly there was a rumbling, the next thing I saw was my empty lunchbox. I didn't even see what I brought for lunch. I saw all the boys holding a piece of rolled chapati with curry in it. 'I love it ' I said to myself, there was joy all around, no one was thinking it was our last day together. They were all looking at whose lunch box is going to open next. I loved that they loved mama's food. To be Honest, I was in a magical world, until I saw something. Everyone in my class was just smiling and cracking jokes, except Sreya, who was sitting alone in her place as her bench mates were busy giving and taking the food by changing the places simultaneously. She was sitting there with a gloomy face and was acting like eating. She wasn't eating anything. After some time she closed her lunch box without even eating a bit. I was laying my head on my hands above the desk and was looking at her but no one could say that I was watching her. As I was looking at her she looked at me and say something and she just got out of the class without letting anyone know. I saw her eyes were red, she was restraining her tears. And I felt like she was saying "I am sorry". I don't know whether it's right or not, but I need to find out what's happening to her. But how?
