Isabelle took a deep breath, walked over to Ethan’s side, and whispered, “Ethan, Sophie might just be tired. She didn’t mean to tear up the invitation. Don’t be angry with her.”
Ethan looked up at her and said, “When have I been angry with her?” He finally understood.
Isabelle appeared to be speaking up for Sophie, but every word seemed to be reminding him that Sophie had a bad temper, tore up the invitation, and was trying to stir up trouble between him and Sophie.
Ethan said firmly, “I’m not angry with Sophie. She’s my sister, always will be, and I’ll never be angry with her.”
Isabelle forced a smile and said, “It’s good that you’re not angry with her, but if she doesn’t want to go to the auction, we can’t force her.”
