They headed to the other side of the den where the elders lived. They were much older than any of the wolves in the pack and liked to be alone. They were all single or had lost their mates years before, so they practically isolated themselves as they reached an age where it was too difficult to look to the future while the past filled their minds.
Hunter knew an elderly woman from Redwood who had found a partner years after giving up on a future, but that was rare. The elders of Talon were old and attached to their ways.
