CHAPTER THIRTY FOUR
Anna went to Margaret’s house to pack for their trip to New York. They all still felt it best not to tell Will and get his hopes up in case nothing was accomplished. But Anna had a feeling things were going to go in their favor.
“Millie, I need your help,” said Anna, bustling into the house. “I’m going to New York rather unexpectedly and I’ll need to pack for a few days’ stay.”
“Very good, Ma’am,” said Millie.
Margaret overheard them talking from the parlor. Calling, she asked, “Anna, you’re going to New York?”
“Be right there, Margaret.”
“I’ll get started, Ma’am.”
“Are the boys here?”
“They are with Mr. Tattersall.”
“Thanks, Millie.”
Millie went upstairs and Anna went into the parlor.
“Yes. I’m off to New York. I need to keep an eye on my assets, too,” Anna
