CHAPTER FORTY
Aunt Lil and Will arrived from the train station at the same time the next morning, in separate carriages. She had come from Philadelphia and Will had boarded the same train in New York, yet neither knew the other was there until they got to the house.
“I had no idea William was on the train,” Aunt Lil explained to Kathleen and Allen, as she descended from the carriage.
“We didn’t see each other until just now,” said Will, laughing.
“What a shame,” said Kathleen.
Anna heard the noise and looked down from the window of her bedroom. Allen and Lil exchanged a kiss and Will went to her and gave her a hug.
