CHAPTER THIRTY ONE All of the ideas that had been swirling in Anna’s head about decorating Ausable’s beautiful home were coming alive. On the dining table, she had placed birch branches in leaf filled vases and tied tiny pumpkins with twine to hang from them, then arranged berries, pinecones, gourds, and moss around the vases. She had found large maple leaves and adhered them to heavy paper to make place cards and wrote the names of each of the guests with gold paint on the leaves. She fashioned napkin rings out of dried corn husks tied to look like a flower on top.
