CHAPTER FIVE They arrived home in the late afternoon. The boys had napped in the carriage on the way back and were ready to play. Anna ordered them to take baths and to wash off the sand and salt water that was who knows where on them. Still fascinated by the convenience, the boys raced to be first to turn on the bath’s furnace. Colleen and Simone came up from the kitchen laughing together. They seemed to be getting along at last. Anna complimented them on a delicious picnic lunch. Simone happily offered that it was all Colleen’s doing. Colleen grinned and said Simone had done as much as she had and they both smiled at each other. Simone picked up the picnic basket and they headed back to the kitchen.
