_Aria’s POV_ Dante’s eyes fell on the maid who was just about to give me a tip on how to run away, and as if he knew what we had been talking about, his eyes turned to slits as he stared at her. The moment she saw Dante. Her face blanched and she immediately excused herself, running with her tail tucked behind her. And I was just about to hear about something important. The moment the door snapped shut, my eyes snapped to Dante. I glared hard at him, my nose flaring as I growled out. “What do you want?” He was always coming to ruin things for me. Why couldn’t he have waited for a few more minutes? “Have you forgotten the rules already?” Dante asked, the corners of his lips curling up evilly. The throbbing in my ass and knees made it hard to forget and the memories of last night flooded my mind. I sucked in a breath, keeping my glare on him. I was never going to abide by such crazy rules. Call him master? In his dreams! “I take it that you don’t. And yet you still act so defiantly.” He said, crossing the distance between us. When he stood before me, I kept my guard up, ignoring my rapidly beating heart. Was I scared of what he was going to do next? Yes. That must be it. My glare remained on his face, clashing with his cold gaze. “I would have punished you, but I’m quite glad right now. So I can forgive you.” He said, sounding like he was doing me a favour. But something didn’t sit right with me. He was glad? I gave his face a scrutinizing gaze, trying to find any sign of ‘happiness’. His eyes remained cold, save for the slight upturning of one corner of his lips. If this was him ‘being glad’ I wonder how he would look when he is raging. He came all the way here, to tell me he was glad? “What makes you glad? I would assume you found happiness in my misery, and it saddens me to know something other than me brought you happiness.” I said sarcastically, forcing a smile on my face. I needed to know what it was. Because no matter what, it wouldn’t be good news. At least not for me. And since he had to come tell me, I would assume it had to do with me. So what was it? Did he get father? Did something happen to my father? That should be the only reason he would be so happy. “It seems your father has finally decided to do something about his kidnapped daughter. He declared you as missing.” Dante smiled and I almost jumped in shock. He.. declared me missing? That means he had tried all he could to get me and now has to get other people to do it. I knew he wouldn’t abandon me. I knew it. Dante stepped closer to me and my eyes immediately snapped up, my joy being shortened. Why did he find it such good news that Father was searching for me? “So out of curiosity…” he started, grabbing my face. “…what body part are we sending to him?” My heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach, my face blanching. What…body part? He wants to cut out my body part and send it to my father?! “We have to convince him I know you… Your eyes? That way you won’t stare so defiantly at me. Your ears? You never listen to me anyway. Which do you choose?” His voice was cold, sending shivers down my spine. What in the world is this? My eyes water as I bite down hard on my lips. “He is giving twenty million dollars to anyone who has information on you. Twenty million is such a large amount for just information, don’t you think? Let’s make it worth his money.” Dante continued, the corners of his lips curling up into a devilish smile. He was insane, I tell you, truly insane. He looked like the devil as he smiled down at me, a lone tear slipping down my face as I struggled to hold it in. What sort of madness did I get myself into? My leg gives off beneath me and I crumble to the fall, my eyes blankly staring at nothing. I hated him. I always knew he was the devil, and he never hides it: “Are you okay?” Dante asked with mock concern. “If you are having difficulty with choosing, I can choose for you.” That was all it took for me to snap. “You are a monster!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. “Leave me alone! Leave me!!” Hot tears flowed freely from my eyes and Dante only stared in amusement. He enjoyed seeing me like that. Breaking down in defeat because I was helpless. “I’ve been called worse by many people.” He chuckled, shaking his head. “But I should probably start with that tongue of yours.” I head snapped up at him in shock, my eyes going wider. I broke down in sobs, my head in my hands as I sobbed harder. “Don’t cry. Crying wouldn’t help your matter.” Dante teased. “And I haven’t even done anything to you… YET.” He turned away from me and walked towards the door. Pulling the door open, he stopped and turned to look at me. “The worst is yet to come, Aria.” And then the door banged shut behind him. I have to find a way to contact my father. Even if it kills me. One phone call or even a text. And I know just who to get the phone from.
