“Is everything alright?” Anton asked, curious about the whispering and hushing between Liam and me. He has been curious why Liam has been acting strange since I came back from my vacation leave.
Liam paces the small office, and when he stops, he will glance at me, looking mad at me as he narrows his eyes like he is trying to figure out what happened between us before I took my leave and what I did a while ago.
“What did you do this time, Nathalie?” whispered Anton as he looked at his brother and then at me.
I shrugged and fixed my eyes on the painting. “I didn’t do anything,” I uttered in a low voice.
He scoffed. “Why is he looking at you as if he’s gonna crush your soul?”
“Was he?” I asked, glancing at Liam, forcing a smile, but my handsome boss sneered at me.
