We were surprised to see Maxon pacing the hallway because we thought he would just drop Nina at our place and then he would go to his office on an urgent matter. Yet he was still in the apartment when Liam and I arrived.
“Where’s Nina? What happened?” Liam asked worriedly.
“Inside,” Maxon answered, opening the door.
Nina was sitting on the floor, looking horrified at the messy apartment. She reached for my arm right away, and the tears welling in her eyes rolled down her cheeks. I walked to Nina’s side, sat beside her. When I put my arms around her body, I felt her sighing and somehow calming down.
