Logan's deep, menacing voice sliced through the tense atmosphere like a razor. My gaze shifted from him to Lina, who was standing at the edge of the clearing with a composed yet reserved expression.
"I could ask you the same question," Lina said with ease, her eyes fixed on Logan's without faltering. "How about we forego the showmanship, shall we?"
Unspoken tension grew between them, and I stood motionless. Logan's hands clenched into fists at his sides as his jaw tensed, the storm in his eyes hardly subdued.
Logan's voice was firm as he continued, "I thought you left for good," but I could hear the edge underlying it.
