Alec fumbled with his key, almost dropping it more than once as he tried to find the lock in the dark. The two pitchers of margaritas he’d had with his coworkers for his belated birthday party didn’t help. He really should’ve left the outside light on, but he hadn’t anticipated staying out this late.
Which was stupid because he’d been avoiding coming back to his empty apartment every night since Rowan had flown back to Montana to pack up his things.
Alec missed him. More than he felt was reasonable considering the relatively short amount of time they’d spent together. He missed the warmth Rowan brought to a room simply by being in it.
