CHAPTER 2: SUNDAY

989 Words
“YOU'RE GONNA STAY OVER?", a hopeful Melissa asked. Jake did not want to burst her bubble; she had been especially happy with his performance. He could tell that she was not acting, he wasn't dumb - he knew when a girl was faking it, from experience. Well, either she enjoyed it or she was extremely good at faking. "I’ll sleep over alright. But do not be crushed if you wake up in the middle of the night to an empty bedside. I'm not sure I left my house in safe hands,” he said, pulling her closer to himself. “Crushed?” she giggled, “You think I'll be crushed, baby?” She patted his rough dark brown hair, caressed his chiseled face, and ended her little tour around his head with a playful pinch on his stubble. “Hmm,” she said, placing her right index finger on her chin and facing the ceiling acting like she was deep in thought, “maybe I will be a little crushed when you leave... you're not a bad lay but I think I like your company more. I wish I could keep you around.” Jake's smile waned when he heard her remark about his s****l prowess. Her face lit up, and she giggled. “I got you again, ha! You men and your fragile egos. Most of the time I have to gas up ugly fat men, overpraising their underwhelming endowment. Haha!” She gave out a laugh full of disdain. Jake liked this, he liked to be gotten, ridiculed, by a woman, he did not know when he started liking this, maybe since he was a child. He had his unique kind of ego where he wouldn't let anyone talk s**t to him, well except a woman, his mother, sister, or any other woman, as long as she was good-looking. “You want me to rate you?” She asked enthusiastically. He hesitated. He wanted women to critique him after s*x. It was one vice he could not get rid of. He didn't like it but he couldn't stop, he always wanted to be judged. Even when he lost his virginity, in junior high, he asked the girl, Linda Brown, a senior, who said she loved it and wanted to do it again. Unfortunately, Linda disappeared mysteriously after a week. They had done it every day of that week. Maybe she eloped with a dropout - not an uncommon thing- but he wasn't bothered because he never did like her. But she had a nice rack. He smiled. Melissa took the smile for a yes and started talking. He couldn't hear her although she was audible. He was lost in his thoughts. Jake caught a “...so it's like you've been doing this for a long time...” “Beg your pardon? I was kinda lost in my thoughts somewhere; I’m sorry can you say that again?” He was pretty sure she was losing her patience with him. It wasn't the first time this night that his thoughts were drifting, another trait he just couldn't erase. “Alright, I give you an eight.” He could tell from the thrill in her eyes that she hadn't lost patience with him. “Out of eight?” He joked. “No, out of ten.” “What about the two?” “How about you do me again and I'll see if I can do something about it?” He laughed. “You sound exactly like my high school teacher.” “You f****d your high school teacher?” “No just kidding.” I'm not. Jake grabbed her violently and bent her over, then proceeded to let himself in, more like force himself into her. She gasped but didn't resist and when he started thrusting, she moaned and shrieked with every thrust. The sound of the heavy rain outside kindled the fire of their passion. It was half past one in the morning. From outside, one could see shadows colliding behind the curtains of the midmost apartment in the fancy Del Prado Apartments. About an hour later, Jake woke up and started dressing. He had to go back to his house. He had work in the morning and he loved waking up from his bed. He looked at Melissa before he left. He paused for a moment to take in her beauty - her curves and her bust. She was sleek and supple and probably didn't have kids, which was not surprising these days for a woman her age, and it seemed to suit her and her body. He sighed. She was kinda perfect, witty, hot, and pretty. Perfect for any sane man who could afford her. He couldn't understand why she chose this line of work with countless dangers in it but he wasn't one to judge. But he knew for a fact that she didn't deserve that life, she...she... Never mind, she's a hooker. He walked to her mahogany coffee table and there it was, the supposed hundred-year-old bottle of scotch. Melissa had not told him that the bottle had a thick gold coating, thick enough to make it weigh way more than it looked. He took one last swig. The scotch was good, but he doubted it was even half a decade old. She had probably been ripped off, but everyone gets ripped off these days. He chuckled and pulled out his wallet. It was quite weighty. It paid to be the top detective in San Ysidro for the sixth consecutive year, and Jake loved carrying ridiculous loads of cash just for show. He pulled out a couple of bills and placed them next to the bottle. Jake then opened the door and slipped out quietly. Deep down he knew he wanted to see her tomorrow. Damn, I'm losing my mind, he said to himself as he disappeared into the dark hallway.
