"YOU CAN'T BLAME CHASE for being a jealous boyfriend. You know, that guy just loves you so much." Gidget said.
"But I feel like I'm getting suffocated. And I'm not liking it Gidge. Instead of having a boyfriend, I feel like I just had myself a second father!" she replied stomping her feet.
Gidget stood up and went to her closet. While Alex went to lie on Gidget and Alita's bed, still staring at her. They're at Alita's apartment where Gidget is currently staying. As of the moment, Alita's busy at work and also for preparing her upcoming wedding with Matthew so they're both left at her place.
"Do you mean Chase is like that to you? Like your father?" she asked, eyes bulging.
Alex sighed before answering. "Hmmm, yeah. Sometimes he's even worse than dad. He's over-protective and kind of dominant. I feel like he sees me as his stubborn child that needed to discipline instead of his girlfriend."
Gidget laughed at that. "But that's true though, you can be so stubborn sometimes. Especially when you wanted something so bad, and you get mad easily when you couldn't get it. And you would do anything just so you could have it to yourself."
"I know, I was just so childish back then."
"Aren't you still childish up until now?" she said smirking.
"I believe I have been a bit matured now, you know." She said pouting. "Wait a minute, why do I feel like you're siding him instead of me, your cousin and your best friend."
"I don't, it's just you who's thinking that way." She stick her tongue out at Alex who has been pouting for a while now.
"Oh wait! Alita and Matthew's wedding is in a few weeks right?"
"Yes why?"
"Isn't she enviable?"
"Don't tell me you want to get married too?"
"It's not like that. It just that it's nice to think that your sister and our other cousins have finally found their true love and have settled down. They're all happy with their lives now. And I'm wondering, when will be ours you know?"
"All I know is that mine is nowhere near. I still want to finish my studies. And besides, I don't have even have a boyfriend yet." She immediately said. "But you my dear cousin, you have Chase. It won't be too long until you marry him, right?"
She shook her head lightly. "Once I found the guy that I know that I will surely love, you know someone whom I will do anything for, the one who's going to stir my hormones in just one glance. I will be the one proposing to him if I ever find someone like that." She giggled.
"But what if the guy you will find is not someone who is suitable for the one and only Alexandria Hermosa? Someone your parents despise for a man. Someone who isn't rich enough to provide your luxurious wants, who lives in a small and filthy house, who can't even serve you food of your liking---"
"Seriously Gidge? Where have your imagination brought you? And you found that kind of character!" she shriek.
"And even had divorced his previous wife and have kids living with him?" she smirked.
"Maybe I-I'll just cross the bridge when I get there."
"I want a straight answer now Alex."
"M-maybe I'll just follow what my heart says. I'll leave everything just to be with him if I have t-to."
"Are you serious? Can you even hear yourself?"
"I haven't experience to have someone that I will truly love. And I would do anything to keep it once I've found it with someone. I feel like I'll be different when that happens, it will change me for the better. And I will prove to him and my parents my love and that this love will make me happy."
"Cheers to that!" she squealed.
ALEXANDRIA HAPPILY SWIMMED on a crystal clear water. She kept paddling going back and forth, going under water and doing back stokes.
Gidget was supposed to be here in Chase's beach resort but she said she could not make it because she's not feeling well. So it turned out to be just the two of them. But she knew that Gidget was just making that up to be her excuse. Because she felt out of place for not having a boyfriend with her.
She swam near the shore. And emerged from the water to go near her boyfriend Chase.
"Aren't you going to swim with me? The water is great! You should enjoy it."
"I enjoy watching you from here. But later I will surely join you."
"Sure."
And she dipped in the water again leaving her boyfriend on the beach chair. She kept swimming to her hearts extent since she won't be in a beach resort for a while after this.
After a little later, Alex noticed that Chase has been talking to some girl beside his beach chair. Though her spot is far from theirs she still can see them and saw that the girl gave him something which he held. A few seconds later, she saw the girl lied on her stomach while Chase applied the lotion on her back.
And she's not wrong guessing that it was lotion after she saw what Chase did on her back. She just shook her head before she submerge in the water again.
Alex noticed since they left the beach resort until they reach the city that Chase has been acting silent while he's driving.
When they reached her house she didn't get out of the car immediately and decided to her to him first.
"Is there a problem Chase?"
"You are the problem Alex."
She looked at him with questioning eyes. "Me? What do you mean? What's the problem with me?"
"Look, I easily get jealous with every single things whenever it concerns you. I always get hurt when you ignore me, because I'm showering you with so much attention---"
"Are you blaming it to me?"
"No Alex. I'm just stating the fact. A fact that no matter how much I give you myself and everything, you won't be able to give a bit of yourself to me. You won't even get jealous, when you having something to get jealous at. Like the girl who went near me a while ago, I wouldn't have given her attention if I didn't think of a way to make you jealous. I just want to make you jealous to know that you really love me. In that way, my worries will be washed away once I knew that you felt a sudden emotion of protectiveness over me. I was hoping that it would turn that way. But I was wrong."
"Because I trust you too much Chase. I know that you will not cheat on me. Did you ever think that a woman would give her trust to a man if she did not love him? And you know that I love you Chase. That's why I trust you so much."
Chase just stared at her for a moment. Like he's assessing her if she's saying the truth.
"But still I can't erase the fear I'm having of losing you Alex. I need some assurance from you." He said with a pained expression.
She heaved a sigh. "What do you want me to do to ease your uncertainties Chase? Tell me---?
"Marry me."
