"Where are you taking me?" I asked, with no expectation of an answer, but there was nothing bad about trying. "The Alpha king has called for your presence." The lanky palace guard leading the men answered, and I was tempted to ask why, but I know my luck wouldn't run so far. He probably answered out of pity for my situation, because if what that guard said was true, treason isn't treated lightly in the kingdom, although I don't know the punishment for treason.
