Months had passed since Alfred and Gia made the bold decision to fight for their love. They had faced every challenge, every obstacle his parents threw their way. Alfred had been unyielding, his resolve to protect Gia stronger than ever. He had secured jobs for her, helped her rise above the rejection that had followed her every step. But the battle was far from over. His parents continued to manipulate and scheme, doing everything they could to break them apart. Every time they thought they had overcome a hurdle, another one appeared. Yet, somehow, their love grew stronger, deeper, and more undeniable.
And then came the news.
Gia sat in Alfred's arms, her heart racing as she looked at the small, plastic stick in her hand. It was positive. Her breath caught in her throat. A child. Their child.
"I’m pregnant," Gia whispered, her voice trembling with a mixture of excitement and fear. She had dreamed of this moment, but now that it was real, the weight of it settled on her shoulders. Would their child have the same fate as Mica’s? Would history repeat itself?
Alfred, too, was filled with a mixture of emotions. He held Gia close, his hand gently resting on her abdomen. He could feel the life growing inside her, and yet, his mind was clouded with fear. The fear of losing her. The fear that his family’s dark legacy—the one that had taken Mica from him—would now haunt Gia as well.
"I’m so scared, Alfred," Gia admitted, her eyes filled with tears. "What if... what if the same thing happens to me? What if they try to hurt me... or our child?"
Alfred kissed the top of her head, his heart aching. "I won’t let them hurt you, Gia. I swear. I won’t let the past repeat itself. Not with you. Not with our baby. We’ve fought so hard to get here, and we’re going to fight even harder now. No one is taking you away from me."
But despite his words, the doubt lingered in both of their hearts. Alfred's parents would stop at nothing to maintain their control over his life. They had already tried to tear them apart once. Would they do it again, this time with Gia’s pregnancy as their weapon? Would they threaten Gia’s safety, just as they had done with Mica, manipulating the world around her until she was alone, vulnerable?
The days following the discovery of Gia’s pregnancy were a whirlwind of emotions. They were overjoyed—of course they were—but they were also terrified. Alfred, who had once been so confident in his ability to fight back, now felt helpless. He couldn’t shake the feeling that history was about to repeat itself.
One evening, after a long day of dealing with his parents’ relentless disapproval and schemes to separate them, Alfred returned home to find Gia sitting on the couch, her face pale and drawn. Her hand rested over her stomach, as though she were trying to protect the life inside her.
"Gia," Alfred said softly, his voice full of concern. "What’s wrong?"
Gia looked up at him, tears welling up in her eyes. "I feel like I’m living in the same nightmare that you lived with Mica. I can’t help but feel like... like something bad is going to happen. I’m so scared, Alfred. I don’t want to lose you. I don’t want our baby to be taken from us."
Alfred knelt down in front of her, taking her hands in his. He looked into her eyes, seeing the fear and uncertainty that mirrored his own. He had been trying so hard to protect her, to shield her from the pain and heartache that his family had caused him. But now, with a child on the way, everything felt different. The stakes were higher. The risks were greater.
"I promise you, Gia," he said, his voice fierce with determination, "I won’t let them take you. I won’t let them hurt you. We’ll face this together. And if they try to come after us... they’ll have to go through me first. No one, not even my parents, will take you or our child away from me. You’re my future, Gia. And I will protect that with everything I have."
Gia smiled faintly, wiping away the tears that had fallen. "But what if they do? What if I can’t handle it? What if—"
"Stop," Alfred interrupted, gently cupping her face in his hands. "You can handle this. We can handle this. Together. I know it’s hard, but we’ve already been through so much. We’re stronger now. We won’t let them control our lives anymore. We will fight for our family. Our child. And if they try to take that from us, we’ll fight them with everything we have."
Gia nodded, her heart swelling with love for him. She knew that Alfred was right. They had already been through the worst, and they had come out the other side stronger. But the fear still lingered. What would happen when the baby arrived? Would they be able to keep their child safe from Alfred’s parents, who had the power to destroy everything they had fought for?
As the weeks passed, the tension in the air only grew. Alfred’s parents made no attempt to hide their disdain for Gia. His mother, especially, had become increasingly cold and distant, using her influence to make Gia’s life even more difficult. Alfred had continued to fight, using every ounce of his power and resources to protect her, but the battle seemed never-ending.
And yet, through it all, their love remained unwavering. The closer they grew to the day when their child would be born, the more determined Alfred became. He wasn’t going to let history repeat itself. He wasn’t going to let his past mistakes take away the future he had with Gia and their child.
But as much as Alfred believed in their love, the fear that gripped him—of losing Gia, of losing their child—never quite left. He couldn’t help but wonder if the past, with all its pain and loss, was destined to catch up with them. Would they be able to escape it? Or was it fated that the ghosts of the past would continue to haunt them?
Alfred’s thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. He opened it to find Gia standing there, her eyes filled with determination and worry.
"Alfred," she said softly, "I need to talk to you. About the baby."
Alfred’s heart skipped a beat. Was something wrong?
"Gia, what is it?" he asked, rushing to her side.
"I’m scared, Alfred," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I’m scared that everything we’ve fought for will be taken away. That the same thing that happened to Mica will happen to me. And I can’t go through that again. I can’t lose you. I can’t lose our baby."
Alfred hugged her tightly, his heart breaking at her words. He had promised her that he would protect her. And now, more than ever, he had to keep that promise. For their love. For their child. He would do anything to make sure that their family was safe.
"I swear, Gia," he whispered, his voice full of emotion, "I will protect you. No matter what happens. No one is taking you from me. Not now. Not ever."
But deep down, Alfred knew that the battle was far from over. His parents would stop at nothing to tear them apart. And as Gia’s pregnancy progressed, the fear of history repeating itself grew stronger.
The love they shared was fierce, but the world around them was just as unforgiving. And Alfred, despite his promises, couldn’t shake the feeling that their fight was only beginning.
