Chapter 8

After spending the whole day with my mate, I was too attached to her. I did not want to even let her go alone, not even to get a glass of water. Right after she told me about how her parents treated her, I knew then that I was going to have some problems with them.

We all went to the reunion, then spoke to Alpha Damien and Luna Marie about our plans. As soon as Alpha Damien warned Liz about her parents, I was on high alert. My worries grew stronger. Alpha Damien knew   it, so he let us take our mates to our tents until we can finally leave for our packs afterwards. We went to help them with all their stuff be moved to ours. As we were getting ready for bed, I kept looking at my mate, seeing that worried look on her face made me to protect her even more. Even if it means going against her parents.

Liz started to drift off to sleep. I, however, could not. I had to be prepared for anything, when it comes to my mate, I must defend and protect the love of my life. I look at her while she sleeps. Her gorgeous caramel skin, her long lashes, her beautiful black her, she is the definition of perfection in my eyes.

Slowly, the night goes by. I also drift off to sleep but making sure my mate was securely by my side.

The next morning could not come by any sooner. We were in breakfast when Alpha Damien pulled me by the side.

“Alpha Shawn, I had come to warn you that Elizabeth’s parents are already on their way. Make sure you and her friends are always by her side. Knowing Diego and Lory, they will go at any level to make her unhappy.” “Thank you, Alpha Damien, do not worry. I will not let anyone harm her in any way. I will take her to our pack at any costs.” I replied. “No one, not even her parents, will stop me.”

“Go and let them know what’s happening. Better get prepared for anything.” Alpha Damien warns. I nod and go back to the table.

“What did Alpha Damien want?” My mate asks. “Your parents are already on their way; he says it is better we get prepared for anything. He does not want you to be alone at any given time. Your parents will try to pull something if they see you on your own. I agree with him. Now, you cannot be on your own Princess. Not until we are in our pack already.”

“Don’t worry cousin, you know I got your back with anything.” Alex says. His mate, Dominique, nods her head in agreement. “Same here Alpha, Liz is my sister, and we will not let nothing bad happen to her.” Claire exclaims. “Yea bro, you are not on your own. We will do anything to protect our future Luna.” My Beta says.

I look down at my mate, making sure she was not scared. I reassure her that she will be safe and by my side, “trust me princess, your parents will not hurt you while we are by your side.”

“I know, I just don’t want to see them any time soon. Don’t want to give them a chance to try to do something.” She replies. “Don’t worry Princess, we are here to protect you.”

After breakfast, we went back to our tents to pack up everything. Since we are not going to stay another night, we packed up everything, getting ready to leave at a moments notice. As soon as we were done, we got ready for the ceremony before leaving.

We all got seated together at the front with the rest of the pack members who found their mates. The same woman from yesterday starts to speak, going through a small speech, yada yada yada- at this point I am not even listening. I just want it to be over before Liz’s parents sees us.

Once we were all let go to mingle around some more, we decided not to. We knew what was going to happen if we stayed any longer. Before we even moved a few feet, someone was calling for my mate. We all turned around, seeing a couple walking towards us.

“Oh no.” Dominique and Claire whispered. Immediately I tensed up, ‘they have to be her parents’ I thought. I was not happy at all.

“Where do you think you are going Elizabeth?” Her mother asks. “Mom. I found my mate.”
