Chapter 19

I wished this never happened. Now, my niece has to suffer even more with them on the move to destroy her. Liz does not deserve this. I know her mate will do anything to protect her. However, knowing Diego and Lory, they will do anything to get what they want. That is one of the reasons why I had to go in hiding. Before they even find out the truth of my relationship with Liz, I had to do something to slow them down.

I am just grateful that Shawn was able to accept me and help me out. Now, I am in the same house with my niece, and I will do anything to protect her.

I get ready for breakfast and head downstairs. Liz and Shawn are already there. “Good morning everyone.” I say.

“Morning Uncle Jax. Did you rest well last night?” Liz asks me. “I sure did. I believe better than I have these past nights.” Shawn gives me a knowing look, knowing exactly what I mean.

“I would like you to go with me to the training grounds, Jax. I need you to get in shape physically. We need to be prepared for anything.” I nod approvingly at him. After breakfast we leave Liz with the other two females as we head down to the grounds. We spend hours getting me through the basics before getting into it with others. I may not be a full werewolf, but I grasped the training pretty fast.

By the end of the day, I was pretty bruised up, but not as much as I thought.

“You did well there Jax. A few more days of training, and you will be in the same level as everyone else.” His beta tells me. Shawn nods in agreement. “He is right, for a hybrid, you are not bad at all. Let’s go meet the girls and have dinner. They must be crazy right now that we did not gone to lunch today.”

So we all head back. We take a quick shower and look for the girls in the kitchen.

“Why didn’t you come have lunch earlier?” Liz asks. “I’m sorry princess. We were all caught up with the training that we forgot.” Shawn tells her while giving her a kiss. She gives him a pout. He smiles and hugs her. “Come on now, the food is ready.”

We all sit down around the kitchen table. “Uncle, I would like you to mee one of my best friends since forever, Claire, who is mated to Beta Matt. Then, we have Luz, who is mated to Gamma Steve. Everyone, meet my Uncle Jax. He is the half-brother of my real mother.”

“Wait, you mean to say that Lory and Diego are not your real parents?” Claire asks.

“Correct.” I answer her. They had take Elizabeth when she was barely two years old. They had lost their child and in return, took my niece with them, also knowing of what she will inherit from them when they pass away.”

“But why would they do that?” Luz questions. “They knew my parents had a lot to offer. Not only that, Lory was in love with my father for many years, as well as Diego was with my mother. But since my parents are mates, they were not happy about that. They did anything to separate them. They each poison the other so they can be with them. However, as a consequence, both my parents ended up dead by the hands of these people.” Liz tells them.

“They have been in contact with me for years, not knowing that they were after my dear sister and her mate. I was also in part of their schemes, unknowingly. But my sister came one day and soon I found out the whole story. Ever since then, I have tried my best to sidetrack them and delaying them. Until I could find my niece.” I finish saying.

“I thought my whole life was because I was my “dad’s bastard child and they never wanted me. I was told that my whole life. But now, it wasn’t because I was a bastard, but I am not even their real child. And they killed my parents, who I never met.” Liz cries in the arms of her mate. I cannot believe they actually lied to her and closed her off from the truth. But what can you expect with a pair like them? Nothing. I sigh and looked around the table. Each one with their mates. I sigh again and look down.

“Uncle?” “Yes niece?” “Have you ever found your mate?” Liz asks. I look up at her and shake my head. “I haven’t found my mate yet. I don’t know if I ever will. I spend years away from everyone. I mean, who would want to be a wolf who is half witch? Only your mother was my best friend.” I reply.

“You are still young Uncle Jax. Trust in the Moon Goddess that you will find your mate.” Liz tells me.

“I will Liz. I will.” I tell her. We finish off dinner and go to our rooms to call it a night.
