Alexa's POV Carlton's expression was the same as mine. It felt like I was in a nightmare; I had to punch myself hard to realize I wasn't. “You two know each other?”. Oliver asked. Carlton looked at me for a split second before saying. "No, I don't. I have never met her before.” Oliver looked at us suspiciously. “It seems she knows you.” “Now I remember the show I went to last night; she was there. Sorry, I couldn't give you an autograph." Carlton smiled apologetically. It was preposterous. His family didn't even know he was getting engaged to me. No wonder he never said anything about his parents. I decided to play along. “Yes, last night's show. I didn't know you were related to Oliver. Different surnames”. I pointed out. “It's actually the same. I recently changed to my mother's name. Carrington”. Oliver explained. “So it's Oliver Banks Carrington.” I nodded, and followed him inside. Carlton's eyes never left my body; it made me squirm. He was the last person I wanted to see. Now I will be living under the same roof as him. Reynold took hold of my hand; it felt warm, and I was immediately drawn to him. The way a daughter would to her father. He had laugh lines just like my father. “When Oliver told us he'd gotten married, I thought he was joking. When I saw you, I knew he was telling the truth.” I smiled at him. Evelyn was also nice. I never knew stepmothers could be nice. “We had the chef prepare something nice to welcome you with." She pointed to the dining table. They had more servants than I did. All in order. Oliver was chatting with Carlton. They seemed close, which wasn't what I wanted. The food was nice. There was so much laughter coming from the table. Sometimes, I would catch Carlton staring at me, then avert his gaze to talk to his brother. I felt at peace here, but not completely. The reason why it was incomplete was Carlton. “So, how did you and Oliver meet?”. Carlton asked me, a mischievous smile on his face. I was lost. My mind couldn't think of anything to say. Thankfully, Evelyn came to my rescue. “Carlton. Alexa just got here; you can ask her questions later. Let her enjoy her meal.” Carlton chewed on his food, still smiling. “Of course, mother.” We finished eating soon enough. Oliver touched my shoulder. “One of the maids will show you to our room. I have to speak with my father for a second.” “Why don't I show her? Besides, she's my sister-in-law." Carlton offered. I wanted to say no, but my voice betrayed me as I nodded in agreement. Evelyn gave me a hug before I followed Carlton like a lamb about to be slaughtered to a room. The room was exquisite. I didn't get the chance to absorb its beauty before Carlton slammed the door shut. “What the hell do you think you are doing in my house?”. He asked me harshly, his face inches away from mine. I stepped away from him. “You mean my house? I am married to Oliver, remember. The brother I never knew you had." I spat back at him. “Don't try to play the guilty card here, Alexa; you ran out of our engagement party without giving me a chance to explain.” I laughed out loud, “Wow, the irony of it. An engagement party you claimed was a show for your family earlier. An engagement party where you f****d my sister.” “It was a mistake. Diedra seduced me. I wasn't thinking clearly. If only you'd given me a chance to explain myself. But you didn't; you ran off to marry my brother. How am I supposed to be convinced you weren't cheating on me before now?” “You are such a manipulative man, Carlton. Suddenly you are making this about you, accusing me of cheating, when you and I know that you are the cause of it all.” His eyes changed, like he was reflecting on what I had just said. He came to me again, his hands on my shoulders. “I'm sorry, you are right. But in all honesty, I planned to introduce you to my parents.” “When, after we get married?”. I challenged him. “My brother did the same thing moments ago; you didn't seem to have a problem with it.” "No, I don't. We are married. He is my husband now, which means whatever happened between us is in the past.” “I know you don't mean that." He said, rubbing his thumb against my cheek. It was his way of apologizing anytime we got into a fight. My knees buckled at his touch; he always had that effect on me and could draw my sexuality out in seconds. “That's how it is now; I can't change it." I replied weakly. “You can always get a divorce. That way we can get back together.” My mind was in turmoil, I was not in control of my senses, and I hated that he had such leverage over me. “What about Diedra?”. “Diedra meant nothing to me; it was a mistake. I told you that she seduced me." His lips were parted slightly; I saw the smirk on his face. “No!”. I pushed him off me. “I saw you with her; you enjoyed f*****g her. I will never forgive you for it.” Carlton dragged me back and pressed his body against mine. I could feel his erection bulging in his pants. Seconds ago, I would have been aroused, now I can see things clearly. He only wants to f**k me till he is tired of me. “You are mine. Alexa and I will do everything in my power to get you back." My breath was hot on my face. I could see that he was trying to kiss me. With all the strength I could muster, I pushed him off me a second time; the door creaked open, and Oliver walked in. “What is going on here?”. Carlton and I froze..
