The sun had not yet risen in the sky, they had gotten an early start after all, but Carmel could see everything around her. Another wolf advantage she supposed. She and Paxi were working together in absolute harmony. Carmel aware of Paxi and how their paws were drumming the ground in a steady rhythm as they chased behind Alex/Anton. She felt in control, but also like there was just “more” happening in her body, thoughts and feelings. Sort of like when she would play piano and her fingers just knew the song.
“We are one!” Paxi sang in her head.
“We are!” Carmel agreed. She couldn’t help but ask, “Is this how you felt with Kylara?”
Paxi was silent for a while, Carmel waited expectantly as they ran along companionably.
