Adira(Flynn’s P.O.V) In that moment as the tension melted from my body, I inhaled a lungful of crisp air, returning life to my lungs. I couldn't believe that I had nurtured the thoughts that I was going to fumble this— thanks to the smug smile on Miguel’s face that threw me off balance. That smile sent a wave of terror through me as thoughts of fear crossed my mind because the weight of his intense eyes on my back made me feel like I was going to lose and if I did, Miguel was going to win, choose me to spar with him, and leave me half-dead or dead. That man was going to kill me. It was in his eyes. Anyways, the fear of having to spar with him got my head back into the game and it made me remember one simple fact— I was a trained archer.
