The next morning, I woke up on my side, holding Maverick’s hand, our fingers tangled together. Apparently, I couldn’t bear to not touch him while I slept. Maverick was awake, staring at the ceiling, arm propped behind his head with the sheet barely covering his lower half, his magnificent abs on full display. (Yum.) “Good morning,” I whispered. He rolled his head over to look at me and smiled, “morning.” I scooted over so I could get some proper morning cuddles.
