GETTING THE CUSTOMER

You have a great product or service. That is fantastic. Now let's take a look at your market size and potential. Your only challenge is to find a way to reach the people who NEED your products or services on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. You have to forget about your products or services for now. Concentrate ALL your thoughts and energy to getting the end user, the customer. Try to be positive enough and CONVINCE yourself that you can sell to 1,000 people DAILY. 1) Think it 2) Sing it 3) Dream it 4) Believe it Begin With The End In Mind. Do you know what the end is with this plan? The end is your product or service (at maybe 100 naira each) sold to 1,000 people EVERYDAY. THAT IS 100,000 NAIRA SALES ON A DAILY BASIS. You are looking at 3 million naira in sales EVERY MONTH. You CAN IMAGINE what your profit is, right? That is the end of your thinking. That is your objective. That is your GOAL. Now to get 1,000 customers is not easy at all, akwai WAHALA SOSAI. But if you can spend 4 years and millions of naira to get a degree, one year doing your NYSC stint, and you are yet to get a job that pays even 100,000 naira as salary per month, HOW LONG ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK HARD TO GET 1,000 CUSTOMERS THAT WILL GIVE YOU ALMOST 1MILLION NAIRA PROFIT IN A MONTH? Think about this, sleep on it. Remember; Think it, Sing it, Dream it and Believe it. And lastly, PRAY OVER IT. Then GET TO WORK! Like I said, the task is to get 1,000 customers. The next question is, HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT GETTING THEM? First of all, understand that there are two worlds out there; 1) The real world 2) The virtual world Both worlds are equally important to our lives and the success of our businesses. We have friends and colleagues we know physically, as well as those we know on the various social media platforms. You have to first of all engage with people you know physically that live in the same environment or state as you. a) Send them an SMS b) Call them c) Meet with them Explain to them your value proposition. 1) What do you have? 2) Why is it special? 3) Why should they leave where they buy from to start buying from you? a) Is it a better price? b) Is your product or service better? c) Is it Home Delivery? d) What is so special about what you're offering? If you get 5 new customers in a day, that is a very excellent effort. 5 per day is 150 customers in one month. That is very good. Secondly you have to look at people you know virtually and select those within your immediate environment or state. You'd be surprised at how many they will turn out to be. Go to their messenger, inbox and talk to them individually about what you have. Get their address and initiate a meeting if possible. YOU MUST KNOW YOUR CUSTOMERS PERSONALLY, after all they are going to be the source of your income. At this rate, you'll reach your 1,000 Customers mark eventually. If you start with 100 customers, that's 10% of your target. Remember; think big, start small. I hope you learnt something.
