Somi's POV
After waking up and having a chat from Renjun, I immediately rushed to get ready for school. I was stupid, I already knew I still had to go to school tomorrow, but instead of sleeping, I watched the drama until late at night.
Mom, why isn't she waking me up? Doesn't she know that me, her daughter often goes out of my way when I sleep? It seems like there's no effort from her to help me wake up earlier.
After finishing cleaning myself, I immediately rushed down and saw my mom who was washing the dishes.
"Mom! Why didn't you wake me up?!" I grumbled as I spread jam on the bread that was on the dining table.
"I already woke you up but you slept like a corpse, so just leave it and hey! Why are you still able to eat your breakfast in such a relaxed way, hurry up and go!" she said.
"I'm waiting for Renjun, a model student like him doesn't even worry then why should I?" I answered blindly.
"Call him Oppa, you're a year younger than him, remember?"
I ignored my mother's words and continued to eat casually. Suddenly my cellphone rang and when I checked it was Renjun who called me.
"Yah! Renjun? Where are you? Aren't we almost late? Why haven't you arrived home yet?"
"Yah! Jeon Somi! I'm waiting for you outside the fence of your house since God knows when, quickly-" Renjun had not finished speaking but I had turned off the call.
Gosh, Renjun was waiting for me. If I knew it earlier, I won't have my breakfast in such a relaxed way like this.
"Mom, I'm leaving now, see you!" I said to my mom while rushingly put my shoes on.
When I was outside, I found Renjun already standing with both hands in his school pants pocket.
"You reckless, hurry up! We're late!" Renjun said with a snort of annoyance as he walked away leaving me. I immediately jogged so I could align my footsteps with him.
"Renjun-ah, why are you waiting outside? You can wait inside my house earlier."
"Jeon Somi, there is no time to wait anymore, you should go out immediately if you are already getting ready," Renjun answered.
"I thought ..." I began to think of reasons to quibble. How could I admit that I took the time to eat breakfast casually while he was waiting for me outside.
I can feel Renjun's glance waiting for my explanation. Ah, I can just say that I couldn't find the assignment I had to collect today.
"Ah I was .." not able to finish my words, Renjun rubbed his handkerchief to the side of my lips while groaning in annoyance.
"You don't have to lie, you must take the time to eat first, right? Look at the remaining this bread jam, it's disgusting."
After cleaning my lips, Renjun proudly gave me his gloves.
"Give it back to me clean," Renjun said, ending the conversation.
Treated like that, I squeaked back and my sigh was only returned by him with a glance accompanied by an annoying grin.
He is not romantic at all, now it's all making sense to me why there are no girls want to date him. He's lame and annoying
I'm concerned about whoever will become Renjun's lover later.
"You should keep these gloves and never wash them. My lip tint must have stuck to your gloves and you could later get a profit if you sold them to the men who were after me," I protested confidently.
"Disgusting," Renjun sneered heartily.
I just lightly hit Renjun's arm. He is famous for being calm in school, he is also very protective of his juniors. That is why Renjun is so ideal in our school.
Those who idolized Renjun never knew that their ideal president had a sharp mouth. Even though my words just now were very narcissistic, so actually it was only natural that Renjun would call me disgusting, but it was still rude, wasn't it?
On the other hand, how sharp Renjun said to me, he was still my best friend and despite all his annoying attitude, I knew he was a very caring person.
Renjun and I have known each other since I was 7 years old. We can be this close because besides being in the same elementary school and neighbors, our parents are also close for we have similar backgrounds that are both not native Koreans.
Renjun's father, who is Korean, married his Chinese mother and has lived in Seoul since Renjun was born.
As for me, my Korean mother is married to my father who is from Canada. They met when my mother was on service in Canada and decided to get married there.
My family settled in Canada and when I was 7 years old we moved to Korea.
That's when I got to know Renjun. For an 8-year-old kid, Renjun was quite proficient in English so that I was greatly helped. He taught me to speak in Korean and communicate with our peers at that time.
Our friendly relations are very close. In fact, we often took turns staying at home every Saturday. Indeed, as we became teenagers, we began to have distance but that did not reduce our familiarity.
I personally still very often telling him about everything, from important to unimportant things, thankfully Renjun was willing to serve and listen to my babble.
