His wrath

IRIS POV I wiped off the book shelf’s with a napkin, there were different books, history, pack welfare and war strategy. So, Ryker was the reading type. That's surprising, for a man who seemed to communicate mostly in threats. Mira was busy dusting off the sofa and cleaning the table spotless. I picked one of the books that caught my interest; Titled the history of the Moon. The paper made crinkly sound as I opened the page. My eyes skimmed the elegant writing about the Moon Goddess and the profound, inescapable nature of the mate bond. I was just about to turn the page, completely absorbed. “Be careful Iris, you can’t touch his things,” Mira warned her hands on her waist. Her brow narrowed in worry. Startled me quickly closed the page and returned the book back on the shelf. "I was just..." I trailed off, clearing my throat. "I’ve finished wiping the shelf." “Oh,” Mira sighed, her expression softening. “Since you are done, why not go clean the bedroom? I will join you immediately I'm done here, so we will finish early and return.” The bedroom — I froze, I had almost forgotten about that. “Ye-s that true, I will go clean it now.” My feet felt like lead as I walked toward the bedroom door. With every step, my heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird. So I’m about to enter my worst nightmare bedroom now. I wonder if it will look cold just like his demeanor… I reached out, my fingers trembling as they wrapped around the cold brass handle, and pushed the door open. My breath caught. His room was the exact opposite of my thoughts. It was arranged beautifully and majestically, In the center sat a massive, dark-timbered bed, the black sheets on it slightly rumpled. A rich, soothing wave of lavender and crushed pine immediately filled my nose, wrapping around me like a warm embrace. Snow growled inside my head taking in the scent. “It's so sweet,” she purred. Oh moon goddess I hate that I have a wolf that defies me and chooses to like what I despise. My fist clenched, forcing her warmth out of my chest. I forced myself to look around, trying to ignore the traitorous comfort of the scent. Thick furs from different animals hung on the wall, adding a rustic warmth to the space, and the sunlight reflecting from the window made the room gloom. Who could have imagine the big bad Alpha had a great taste. Shaking myself out of my daze, I quickly set to work and begun wiping off the dust particles on the windows, wood of the bedframe. I smoothen the sheet and tuck the corner in neatly. I was about to leave, when my feet kicked something beside the bed. I looked down and saw a portrait. Curiosity got the better part of me. I picked it up and saw the drawing of a very beautiful woman she was smiling and has blue eyes. “So breathtaking.” I muttered out in amazement and traced my thumb on her painted cheek. Seeing her image kept so close to his bed... could she be his late wife? A heavy, suffocating weight of guilt settled in my chest. My father had taken so much. No wonder Ryker was so angry to kill my father, he lost such a great woman. “Him-he’s here!” Snow shrieked, her voice frantic. I felt a sudden, agonizing pressure in my chest, like her claws were digging directly into my ribs from the inside. Who? I tried to get what she meant. Then, the air in the room instantly turned ice-cold. A suffocating presence towered right behind me, casting a massive shadow over the frame in my hands. My breath hitched, and I turned slowly, coming face to face with Ryker. His face was bare inches from mine. His expression was twisted in pure, unbridled fury, chest heaving as he stared down at me. His eyes didn't look human anymore—they glowed a terrifying, luminous gold, burning with a lethal light. Before I could even process, a low, menacing sound rang in my ear. Shhhk— Five thick, razor-sharp claws slid slowly from the tips of his fingers, gleaming dangerously in the dim sunlight. I'm seriously doomed. Bile rose in my throat, my knees turning to water under the sheer weight of his alpha aura. Without a single word of warning, his large hand shot forward and his claws clamped tightly around my throat, the sharp points digging deep enough into my skin to draw a bead of heat. He pinned me back against the bedpost, his grip suffocating. Air knocked out from my lungs. “How dare you touch her!!!” he roared, his voice shaking the very walls of the room.
