Leonardo and his three kids sat at the table in their respective positions. It had always been like this for as long as Jéan could remember; her father being at the head of the table, Jules being on his left-hand side and Jacques seated next to him. On Leonardo's right-hand side was an empty seat between him and Jéan. Jéan doesn't recall how long the seat had been empty for, but it felt weird sitting in that empty space. It definitely belonged to the person she called mother, that's for sure, but no one asked at all. It seemed normal for it to be there, so she didn't bother asking at all. She never did.
