The moment I got on the elevator and pushed the button for her floor, knots began to form in my stomach and my nerves were shot. It was crazy how only a few hours ago I was looking forward to seeing her, now I was dredging it. At first I considered pushing the button for my floor, and leaving our talk for tomorrow; however, before I could, the doors opened to her floor and she was standing right in front of me. Her eyes were swollen, probably from crying so much and she looked a bit frail, as if she needed help to stand.
