Somewhere Unknown
The room was dark.
Candlelight flickered on the stone walls.
Four chairs surrounded a round table.
In one sat Alpha Amarah. Beside her, the Alpha of Dark Howl Pack, a rugged, scar-faced man with ice-grey eyes.
Next was the Alpha of Blood moon, tall and lean, dressed in flowing robes.
And at the head of the table…
A figure cloaked in deep midnight robes, face hidden entirely beneath a veil.
Amarah’s fingers tapped against the table, tense.
She finally broke the silence. “The flute didn’t work.”
The cloaked figure laughed softly. The sound was cold, and lacking amusement.
“You sound surprised,” he said.
