Selene’s POV
I didn’t sleep.
I sat by the window all night, staring at the sky.
The letter burned in my mind the entire time. Its message, It could change everything or ruin everything.
When the first light crept across the trees, I was already dressed.
I met Dark outside waiting, he looked at me.
“Ready?”
I nodded.
“Selene.” I heard Dara called from afar. She was running towards me.
“Selene,” she called when she got closer and started sobbing.
“I’ll bring him back, Dara,” I said softly.
Dara clutched my hands tighter, her eyes red-rimmed and swollen. “Promise me. Please… promise me you’ll save him.”
“I swear,” I whispered. “Silas will return alive.”
She broke down again, tears streaming freely, and I pulled her into a quick, tight hug.
