CLAIRE'S POV
After what seemed like an endless drive, I noticed the car I was in coming slowly to a stop. My hands and legs were tied very well. I could not even see. My eyes too were tied very well. My head was spinning. They had the wrong person. I was not Cecelia. How was I supposed to let them know that fact?
“Please, let me go,” I said in a pitiful tone. “You have the wrong person. You have to trust me.”
Instead of responding properly, I heard chuckles and laughter around me. They definitely didn't take any of my words seriously.
“You have to believe me,” I persisted with my words.”I am not the person you think I am.”
The door opened and they jumped out. Then, they dragged me out and still hoisted me like I was nothing, just like they had done to me earlier on.
“You should take it easy on her,” I heard the voice of a lady say. “I believe you know that is the Alpha's property.”
Who was she? She spoke with so much confidence and had authority in her words. Whoever she was, it seemed that she had a high status in this place.
“We are sorry,” the reply came.
“Untie her.”
They cut me loose and took out the food they had used to tie my eyes. When I looked, it was even stranger. I could not help but flash my eyes all around the place. I had never been to any of those places before. As a matter of fact, I still had no idea where I was.
“You,” the lady said to me. “You lowly thing. How dare you try to escape from the pack?”
My focus turned to her. Maybe she would at least give me listening ears. She seemed reasonable. Her hands were locked right in front of her. She seemed well coordinated and full of poise. She might just be my ticket to freedom. I quickly grabbed her hand.
“Please, believe my words. I already tried to tell them. But… but they refused to listen to me. I know nothing about this. I have never been to this place in my life. You have to believe me.”
She pulled her hand away and smiled partly. “I already got the reports of this callous act. It is enough that you dared to escape from the Alpha. How dare you try to act like you have lost your senses? The Alpha will probably not let you live if you continue in this manner.”
I c****d my hair in frustration. What was I to say to make them believe me? If I were them, I would equally not believe the story. I was in the body of the slave girl who supposedly ran away. Unless they would be able to see right through my heart, they would not believe me. This was it. This was probably what the moon goddess meant by her words. I had to pay a price.
Was this it? Damn it! At this rate, even my revenge would be out of my reach.
“You… you have to believe me,” I said again. “Where's this place, by the way?”
“You are in the Death claw pack.”
My eyes dilated in surprise. Death claw pack… what was I doing there?
“You mean this is the Death claw pack… damn it!”
She said nothing but just kept looking at me with eyes that clearly stated she was not listening to any word that I was saying.
If I would be able to get her to believe me, then leaving this place would be entirely possible.
“My name is not Cecilia,” I continued with my explanations “There is a mix-up somewhere. And trust me, I know where the issue is coming from. My name is Claire. I am not Cecilia. You have to let me go in peace. I don't even know the damn dude I woke up in his house.”
She smiled. “It does not matter if you change your name, my dear,” she said. “Whether you choose to answer Cecilia or you prefer to be called Claire, you are still the same person. You will remain the Alpha's property. You are a slave girl who escaped from her master. Do you understand that?”
I shut my eyes for a while. When I opened it, there was anger and frustration in them.
“Damn it!!!” I growled loudly in anger. “How many times do I have to explain this?! I'm not a slave!”
She gnashed her teeth at me. But I was not moved. Instead, I was beginning to get angrier by the whole thing.
“If you are not a slave girl, then who the hell do you think you are?” She asked me in a very mean tone.
Who did she think she was to try to intimidate me? I was done trying to be cool. It was clearly not working.
“When the Alpha hears about your stubbornness, you will—”
I cut her off in mid air. I was in no mood to get threatened by anyone.
“Damn the Alpha!!!” I growied. “I'm an Alpha too!!!”
The statement that left my mouth was responded to by a heavy slap to my face.
“Ah!” I groaned in pain as I clutched my cheek where the slap had landed on.
I looked at her. There was terror in those eyes of hers. She definitely didn't believe what I said. It was clearly obvious that she had no spot in her that agreed with me at all.
“How dare you?!” She growled at me. “How dare you cheap slave dare to say such gibberish?”
At the moment, I could not help the way I felt. I was utterly shocked. I never expected the slap. But I was an Alpha. An Alpha in my pack!
“You…you clearly don't believe what I have said to you,” I struggled to speak in shock.
“Your joke has gone too far this time. And there is no way I will let your arrogance slide!”
My hand was still on my cheek. I just looked at her in shock. As much as I was shocked, it suddenly became funny to me. A chuckle escaped from my mouth.
She gnashed her teeth terribly. “You will be put in your place when you get to see the Alpha. Take her away!!!”
In that same instant, the heavy dudes grabbed me on both hands and started moving. All my thoughts were on him….the Alpha of the damn pack.
