Chapter Fifteen

[ Monica ]
" He came over here ? " Ray asked .
" Yeah , he said he wants to be in his child's life . "
" Bullshit . " He said .
" I guess I just don't know what to do . "
I got up from the couch and went into the kitchen to get some ice cream that I've been craving.
" So are you going to ? " Ray asked as he walked into the kitchen .
" I just said I don't know . "
I grabbed my ice cream then headed upstairs , to lay down and watch tv .
" My mom came by today . "
I said as turned on the tv .
I nodded .
" Why ? " He asked
" She invited us over I guess because were having a family gathering ."
" So are we gonna go ? " Ray asked.
" I guess . It be good to see some of my families that I haven't seen in a while ."
" Alright . " Ray said
He walked over to me and kissed me softly , I smiled as he pulled away .
" I love you . " He smiled .
" I love you too . "
I kissed him one more time before he walked into the bathroom . I turned off the light and laid down , I felt the other side of the bed sink in , indicating that Ray was next to me . I felt him wrap his arm around me . I smiled and fell into a deep sleep .

I woke up to the sound of cartoons playing , I sat up and seen Savannah and Ray watching cartoons . I chuckled and walked into the bathroom and cleaned up my face . I brushed my teeth then walked into the room .
" Savannah go get your clothes ready so you can take a bath . "
" Why . " She wined .
" Because I said so . "
She got up and walked into her room .
" Get dressed big head ! "
Ray laughed and walked over to me and kissed me passionately then went into the bathroom . I smiled and went over to the closet to pick out an outfit .

I curled my hair then added some light jewelry . I walked into Savannah's room and gave her a quick bath then got her dressed .

I added some moose in her hair and combed it out leaving it curly . I walked into the bedroom and grabbed my purse then waited for Ray . Once he was done we headed out to the car , I hope my mom doesn't start anything knowing her .

I pulled up into Monica's mom driveway and parked . We got out and headed up to the door , Monica knocked and we waited for someone to answer .
" Monica ! " Her mom smiled .
" Hi mom . " Monica smiled .
" Ray . " Her mom said .
" Hello . "
She smiled and looked at Savannah but Savannah just hugged my leg . I chuckled and we followed her inside . I'm not really a big fan of Monica's mom , the way she treated her was just wrong .
We walked into the kitchen and there was a lot of people sitting and talking to each other , kids in the back playing .
" Hi everyone . " Monica waved.
" This your daughter Trisha ? " A lady asked .
" Yeah . " Her mom smiled .
" She's a pretty young girl . " The lady said .
I looked over at Monica and she was smiling .
" Thank you . "Monica smiled . " This is my daughter Savannah & my boyfriend Ray . "
" Hi . " Savannah cheesed .
" Hi . "
" It's nice to meet y'all , I'm Susan . Monica congrats on being pregnant . " She smiled .
" Thank you . " Monica smiled .
" Dinners almost done . " Monica's mom smiled .
" Daddy Ray ! " Savannah said as she jumped up and down .
I bent down to her level . " Yeah babygirl ? "
" Can you push me on the swings . " Savannah cheesed .
" Yeah , come on . "
She grabbed my hand and dragged me outside .
[ Monica ]
" Is that her dad ? " Susan asked .
I chocked on my water .
" No , he's been a father figure to her though . "
" Oh , I can tell he really loves her and you . " She smiled .
" He does . "
Soon the doorbell went off and my moms friend Mrs.Jensen , I've always hated her , she's a rich friend of my moms always talking down on people for no reason .
" Oh hello Monica . " She smiled .
" Hello Mrs.Jensen , long time no see ."
" Mommy ! " Savannah yelled .
" Yes ? "
" Savannah , I was only kidding . " Ray said as he walked in from outside .
" You have a daughter ? " Mrs.Jensen asked .
" Yeah and one on the way . "
I smiled as I rubbed my stomach .
She scoffed . " Hm . "
" Excuse me ? "
" Monica don't . " My mom said .
" Don't what ! I'm not gonna let her sit up here and talk about me or my daughter . "
I stood up and fixed my dress .
" Thanks for dinner , but were leaving ."
I grabbed Savannah's hand and we walked outside to the car as Ray followed .
