Fleeing Abel

1004 Words
Brandon                 Cameron was too enthused. Not that it didn’t help us but he went to far. I tried to talk to him using my mind reading but he wasn’t listening. There were too many between us and I couldn’t get any of our troops to him. Then I saw him make his way back. I ordered the troops to try and make a clearer path for him to make it back to us. Then to my horror I saw someone sneak up behind him but he was still to far for any of us to do any good. I saw something shiny hut the ground. He started stumbling toward us. Then he fell. I raced onto the battle field I used what I could but there was just too many. I saw them pick him up and take him to a ship. I raced to mine. I had to get to him. by the time I got to mine they had made it to theirs. I rushed to start it up but they had already started theirs up and completely disappeared. At that time, it hit me that our ships were the same design. Cameron was long gone and I had to break the news to my brother and his family.                 I made my way back to camp I prepared the troops for the night shift. I walked back to Robert’s house to give him the news.  I walked into his house and Robert and I stared at one another. My eyes held nothing back. At that moment Robert knew that something bad had happened. I relayed what happened and Felisha let out a wail and broke down sobbing clinging to Melinda for dear life. Melinda was in no better shape. Robert’s face held nothing but I could feel the despair that was oozing out of him. I knew it was going to be a long night for all of us.                 The next morning, I went towards the front and we were pushed back further. I hoped that with the fresh troops we could gain ground. We were able to get some of the lost ground back but not much. I saw more ships arrive I found the general of the night shift and learned that three ships arrived last night. I knew we were just delaying the inevitable. I started the preparations to flee. With more ships arriving we wont last much longer. I went back to Roberts after another long day of fighting. I gave him my concerns to which he completely agreed but the rest of the council will be hard to convince. Felisha                 The news of my brother hit me hard. I could barely bring myself out of my room but this war was taking its toll on all of us. I heard my uncle talking about a planet wide evacuation. I was going to help my dad to convince them to evacuate Abel. We would lose the battle but not the war. We went to the council chambers and relayed our concerns. We made argument after argument on why we should evacuate now. They were still oblivious even though we were all on the battle field or would soon. They knew the situation was dire. They knew that we could only hold out so long. Yet they were pompous fools. They refused to believe what was right in front of them. They were going to kill us all. I had enough of staying quiet. I knew there were protocols but I asked my dad for the chance to speak to them. Which he granted.                 I turned to the council ad said “How dare you! Do you even think of our people besides yourself? If you fully cared about the people you claimed to protect you would have dealt with this when our friends and their friends and family disappeared, but no you had to stick your heads in the sand and ignore it all. Now we are in this situation because of you. Now here we are the battle lines are getting closer and closer to civilian homes, and what are we doing to protect them nothing. We need to get these people out of here and you are ignoring the problem yet again. We are losing because the enemy is not only using our people but they are still coming. We don’t have the man power to keep this up we are vastly outnumbered. We need to take this time now and evacuate.” I relinquished the floor back to my dad. He looked at me with pride and turned back to the council who were stunned.                 Despite my lecture they still decided against it. Three months later my dad had enough of the council ignoring us and the fact that the battle line was almost to our house. we started going from safe house to safe house making sure that they got into ships and off the planet. We made sure to visit every district ad get everyone out. To say the council was livid towards my dad would be an understatement. However when it came to our troops my dad made sure that only those under Uncle Brandon made it out. The rest would look to their specific council member for guidance. After ensuring that all of our troops left I looked to the blue sky and imagined my brother. I made a promise that where ever he is we would find him and save him.   A/N Thanks for reading this so far. The next several chapters will be off of Abel. I feel that my chapters are not as smooth and I have noticed some errors so eventually I will go back and edit. At least for the next few chapters there will be abuse I apologize in advance if there is problems for accuracy and if it will be hard for you to read but it is necessary for the plot.
