They are here

1811 Words
Griffin                 I was the scout of the day for my General. We had a rotation and I had it every Tuesday. When I first woke up it seemed like today was going to be eventful. Then I went up into our orbit. Today I felt suffocating dread. I always come up here by the command of my general so why was today different. I watched in the darkness for what I feared may come. Could today be the day that I tell my general that we are at war? Would it be tomorrow. I stood up in my ship to get a drink of water. After I quenched my thirst. I sat down in front of my windshield and looked out. I saw them. Hundreds if not thousands of them were here. From my cloaked position I turned my ship around and entered the atmosphere of my home. I landed my ship and ran to the command post. I had to tell General Brandon that they were here. I hope we can mobilize in time. When I arrived I told the one in charge that I had to speak to general Bandon immediately. I waited for a couple of minutes. My nerves were never ceasing. I knew that my next conversation would change this planet forever. Brandon came into view and all I had to do was say three words and things would change. He stopped right in front of me. “they are here.” He looked at me searching for anything that would tell him I was joking. Then he said “show me.” We made the trip there and back. Once we reached land once again, he took off to let the council know. Cameron                 I was playing chess with my younger sister Felisha. I was once again winning. Of course, we were always perfecting our strategy with one another. Its hard not to. We were the most powerful Abilitators on planet and in the universe. Soon I would be in the council as I had just reached the age to join. I also knew from my dad that I would eventually take over the planet with my sister. Abel’s rulers were always those who had the most abilities or powers. My sister and I had 107 while the council were made up of those who had 106 abilities. Everyone on Abel had at least 1 ability and they were put in places that were beneficial to everyone.  The council oversaw their factions and made sure everyone was well cared for. Or at least they were supposed to.                 That was my dad’s frustration. He had urged the council over and over again to take action against the Blythe. One or two of their ships would come in at night and abduct a few of our people and we would never hear from them again. The first time it happened in my dad’s faction he investigated it immediately. He implemented a curfew and put soldiers in the streets and in orbit so that way we could protect our people. Doing that we prevented things from getting worse at least for our faction. The other council members kept calling my dad crazy and refused to believe him.                 Breaking my train of thought from the situation my sister had made a move to which I countered. That’s when I heard the door burst open. I ran out of the game room to come face to face with my Uncle Brandon. “Cameron I need to speak with your dad immediately.” I knew that look. I knew it wasn’t good. I led him to my dad’s office and left. I told my sister that our game would have to wait I feared that today I would be needed. Robert                 My brother entered into my office and informed me that the Blytherian military was here. I followed him into our orbit to see for myself and I knew that my fellow council members would have to listen to me now but I also needed to bring Cameron into this because he may be able to convince the council that I am telling the truth. I hoped. I made it back to my office and contacted the council for an emergency meeting. Then left in search for my son. I found him sitting in his room. I told him to dress nice and to remember what I taught him when dealing with the council.                  The meeting would take place in an hour but I had to let Melinda know. I knew that this whole Blythe situation had gotten to her and had taken its toll on our relationship. “Melinda sweetie I am going to the council in an hour. The Blythe are here and soon we will be at war. Hopefully after the war everything will be ok.” “Rob I’m glad this has shown its head but are you sure that we will win? Our allies aren’t even aware that we will go to war.” “I know had the council listened to me we would have had allies ready but we are Abilitators and we are stronger than any other planet. I think we will be ok.” Cameron                 we were at the meeting. The council members for the exception of my dad were seated at a curved table on a raised platform. My dad was in front of a podium facing the council. My uncle and I were in chairs by the podium. [1] Robert you better have a good reason for dragging us all out here! Again. [2 This had better not be another Blytherian excuse. [dad] First matter of business I want to introduce my son into the council he’s at the age of 21 and has 107 abilities. [3] We have called the assessor and verify your son is to meet him just outside is that the only reason you called us here? [Dad] No I just wanted to start with that seeming as how you won’t listen to me after I state the main reason.” [2] I knew it. It is another Blytherian excuse. All the other council members groaned. [1] All right what is it this time? [Dad] The Blytherian military is in our orbit right this very minute. We have no allies ready yet war is on our door step. Our soldiers are hardly ready. Had you guys listened to me we would be prepared but no. now we have to fend for ourselves and hope we can win. [4] what proof do you have. [dad] My General had a scout that kept an eye out for them the scout then reported to General Brandon and he reported it to me. [5] Did you verify and see for yourself? [Dad] I did. There is a good thousand if not more ships out there.” Robert stated with confidence. [1] We will each send a scout to verify your words then we will reconvene afterwards.” Stated the first member.   Without another word they each left and I met up with the assessor. He tested each of my abilities and confirmed that I was in fact more powerful than the current council members. If we lasted this war then I would be next to take over the council. For now we had a war to prepare for. The rest of the meeting they talked about strategies and how to win the war without the necessary preparation because very soon the Blythe would make themselves known. Throughout that time my dad was very upset with them. He had warned them for years that this would come. He made it known that the other factions suffered while their heads were in the sand about the issue. Finally the meeting was over and the preparations began. Cameron Three weeks went by and not a peep from the threat in our orbit.  The other members had scouts in orbit to keep an eye on the ships waiting for any movement. Then in a flash everything changed and ships were touching down everywhere. The war had begun. The first person to step out of the ship was recognized as an Abilitator but there was something different. Abilitators were coming out of the ship with a few Bytherians. Then all at once we were fighting. We fought against our own people. This war was already decided who would win. I fought off as many of the traitors as I could. I saw Talia. One of the many in the crowd that surrounded me at school. I looked in her eyes and it reminded me of someone who was mind controlled but slightly different. I would only see a flash of remorse before it was gone. This was very strange to me but then again that flash was so quick I wondered if it was even there to begin with.                 We started to establish a line and then we got the rotations. Through out the rotations at least two council members were present to lead. Nights were filled with worry. We managed to get everyone who couldn’t fight somewhere safe. Tomorrow I was going to be on the front lines. We were hard pressed and at the start we knew that this war was not going to be in our favor but we would go down fighting. I lay my head down and fell asleep worrying about tomorrow.                 That morning I went to the front lines. I saw many of our people wounded. Our healers were slowly disappearing. I was briefed by my uncle and I charged into battle. I used fire to kill some and water to drown others. I felt like I was hardly making a dent. I pushed further and further into the battle. I didn’t realize that I was leaving my back up behind. I was so far behind enemy lines that I couldn’t make it back. I created a ring which used almost all of by abilities and killed those in a large radius. I began my retreat. I forgot two rules my dad ever taught me. One if you are going into battle or are in a fight make sure to use your forcefield and two never turn your back on the enemy. I turned around to try and make it back to camp. I was almost there I could see my people fighting when I felt a sharp prick on my neck. My feet felt like they were a heavy burden. My energy levels were waning. I began to stumble. I heard my name. I looked to see my uncle trying to get to me but all at once my world faded to black.
