Robert
When the Hunter visited me, I became worried. It is rare for hunters to ask for help. I started training my soldiers so that if needed we would provide aid to those who asked. Then 4 years and 6 months went by and I hadn’t heard from the hunters which made me worried. I kept my ear to the ground. Then the first citizen went missing.
It was a day like any other I spent some time in my office before checking on my kids Cameron and Felisha. I was happy to see that they were playing videogames with each other. I knew that they were close. Felisha hardly left his side. He even started training her as her abilities started coming in. Cameron was nearing the age of 21 where I would introduce him to the council. I just hope that he would have enough pull on the council should we need it. I smiled as I saw that Felisha was so much like her mother. Her brown hair fell in waves down the middle of her back and while I only saw her back, her eyes were a vibrant blue. Her short pink dress I knew only reached just above her knees. While I watched them a knock sounded at my door. Reluctantly I left to answer it. In front of me stood a man from the town. He seemed almost panicked. I told him to follow me to my office and there we can talk. He nodded and we walked in silence to my office. We arrived at my office and he introduced himself as Officer Nelson.
Officer Nelson Pov
Earlier that day
“Nelson there was a disappearance the file is on your desk this takes precedence over what ever you have today.” My boss said to me. I looked over the file and there didn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary. I was usually called upon these as I had the abilities to see in the past and the path ability. Usually I was able to find the missing people within a couple of hours unless the kidnapper used white steel as that messed with my ability.
I took a car down to the address. The first thing I noticed was that the location was out in the middle of nowhere. I knocked on the door. A couple answered the door. They noticed my blue uniform and ushered me inside. I asked to see their daughter Courtney’s room. They led me up the stairs to a simple bedroom. I put my hand on the bedroom while activating my ability to see in the past. Like looking though files I searched for the correct date. Those with the past ability have different visuals to find the times they were looking for. I preferred the file cabinet. I opened the file to yesterday and looked in.
I watched as she tossed and turned last night. She got up and started to leave the room. My ability required me to follow her out of the room. I followed her and while I was vaguely aware of my surroundings I had to make sure I concentrated. She walked out the door. Then I saw it. It was a ship one of the ones we made tailored to Blytheria. I watched as two men came out towards the unsuspecting girl. They noticed her and crept up on her. I watched as she finally took notice of the men and started to run away. She tried in vain to lose them. They caught up to her and took a needle and injected her with a substance that made her pass out. They drug her back to the ship and took off. I blinked a couple of times to deactivate my ability and I made my way back inside. Just to confirm my suspicions I placed my hand on the ground and activated my path ability for Courtney. I looked at the ground and all I saw was static which meant that she was too far away. This also meant that she wasn’t on planet because if she was on planet I would have been able to find her. If it was shite steel the static would have been a white blanket with a tinge of color. Sadly I was dealing with static so I couldn’t even give them assurances that she was alive.
I walked inside and the couple asked question after question. I waited until they realized I wasn’t answering. I sat them down and relayed what I saw. In both my past and path ability. They told me that she had the other healing ability, ice ability and invisibility. They were just as concerned as before. I told them that I was going to have to go our council member in hopes that we could get to the bottom of this.
That wasn’t my first stop however. Wile I knew that Robert was the best on the council and would take the appropriate measures to ensure our safety but I needed to bring more than one case to him. Therefore, I needed to return to my workplace. I learned of 3 more cases. I checked them out and found that all three were taken off the planet. I became worried because they were taking anyone age and abilities didn’t matter they weren’t even the same gender. The only things that were similar were the Blytherian ship and it was nighttime.
Robert POV
Officer Nelson recounted the cases and explained their differences. I wondered why he brough these to me. Then he got to the part about the Blytherian ship, and I couldn’t help but recall my conversation with Archer the Hunter. I hadn’t heard from them since they asked for a little help. I guess that they failed in their mission because the Blythe are back at it again. I woke up from my stupor and looked at the Officer. I thanked him for bringing it to my attention and that I would look into the matter myself. I wrote a note for his boss to hand me each case that is the same as the three I was presented with. I handed it to him and thanked him again. He then left.
I grew concerned but I also knew that my fellow council members won’t be disturbed about this until I have enough cases. I did the only thing at this moment and I called for my brother. After a few minutes my brother came into my office. I simply told him that at night I need soldiers to blend with the citizens in order to protect them. When he questioned me about it I simply said that there is a problem with citizens disappearing that could get worse. I also told him that the culprit is from the stars above.
He stood straight and put his hands behind his back he accepted my orders and was ready to carry them out. I reminded him that they are to completely blend in that no one should know that I have soldiers patrolling the streets down to the outskirts. He nodded. I then invited him to dinner as I and my family haven’t seen him off of duty. He smiled and accepted. I gave him the time of 6. With that he left and I gave the news to both of my kids and my wife Melinda.
Dinner came and my brother Brandon shared with me that his soldiers prevented five attempts but three others succeeded. I knew in that moment I will take it to the council. The rest of the meal was spent reminiscing about the past and our shenanigans with our parents and any baby sitter. Especially after we developed our abilities. Dinner ended and I contacted the council for a meeting tomorrow.
