Chapter 11Raphael
A shower of bullets echoed through the cave and Gabriel covered his ears, overwhelmed by the sudden unfamiliar onslaught of his senses. They couldn’t stay here.
Raphael grabbed his brother by the arm, pulled them both to their feet, and ran after Dante. There was nothing to be gained by staying in this entrapment. While Dante kept the shooters busy, the two brothers took cover under the platform.
From above their heads, he heard punches, kicks, and people’s futile resistance against the unstoppable force of nature. Raphael’s eyes didn’t deceive him—Dante dodged ancient bullets. Using firearms was meaningless against him. He thought of this diversion all by himself and he executed it excellently. Dante was perfect!
