My legs finally allowed me to move, yet instead of disappearing into the forest as planned, I found myself stepping right into Leonardo’s backyard. I wanted to give him a good chase, make him circle for hours before slipping away to bed—but my body had other ideas. The darkness clung close, masking the intense blush heating my face. In a blink, Leonardo was down the stairs, standing right in front of me, those piercing grey eyes locking onto mine. I’d never seen eyes quite like his—so light, so intense, and entirely his own. "Eavesdropping isn’t your usual style," he murmured with a smirk, the corners of his lips curling. "It’s not, and I wasn’t eavesdropping," I replied, struggling to keep the softness out of my tone.
