The beginning

Today is the day,the beginning of a new Dawn,a new chapter in my life and hopefully a good one too.The day of my not so anticipated nupital. The past few days has been tiring and stressful, from the fitting of my gown to the learning of the traditional dance of the people of Wincosin my kingdom to be.Normal girls dream of this day all their lives, the day when they get married to the one they love, the day they get to be independent and referred to as queen...but I am far from normal because my marriage is meant to be an alliance between two kingdoms and I am only doing my part to protect the things I cherish,my family,my people and my kingdom. But who am I to complain after all I bargained for this 'You look beautiful' 'Mother'i said motioning for the maids to leave the room with my hands 'You don't have to do this,I could talk to your father we could find..... 'Another way'i say interrupting her 'Mother,we all know that there is no other way this is the only option left to save ourselves. If I don't do this we will have to go to war and innocent lives would be lost,we can't risk it mother' 'I wish there was a way we could save the kingdom and not force you to get married to the king of Wincosin' 'Its not force Mother, please don't blame your self for my choice' 'My queen' a maid says as she comes into the room after bowing 'The king requests your presence in the vestibule, the king of Wincosin has arrived with his entourage'. My mother stands up and as she is about to leave the room, she turns back and I catch a glimpse of tears in her eyes ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ The carriage shook jolting me out of my thoughts,I am on my way to my new home the palace of Wincosin and honestly things has been relatively quiet just like my wedding. My nupital was quite the simple affair with just members of the royal family from both sides present. My parents,Older brother Oliver and just a few close family members that live in the palace from my side and a few people from the groom's side.We were joined in holy matrimony at the chapel and just if you are wondering there was no party cause my *husband* refused to wait because the journey home is far.He didn't even sit in the same carriage with me but instead decided to ride ahead on horse with his guards. Speaking of my husband, his name is Stephen and he amuse me.When my father had told me that the man I was to marry was a widower I had imagined him to be old looking with wrinkles and gray hair and a pot belly, someone full of age and would probably kick the bucket soon. But I was surprised to find a good looking young man probably in his thirties who has raven black hair and deep brown eyes like melting chocolate. His aura is alluring and at the same time dangerous, the type that screams at you to stay away but you just want to inch closer and experience the danger. But the real question is how much danger can I really handle? ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ As we approached the gates leading to Wincosin, the carriage stopped abruptly and the foot man opens the door.I was just about asking why the carriage stopped when the King entered the carriage and as if reading my mind,he said 'We have to enter the gates together that's why I am here my lady if you are wondering' 'No,I'm not......' 'I have no intention to disturb you' disturb me?,is that what he thought he was doing? 'You are in no way dis.......' 'Wincosin is a lovely place with beautiful people you would love it' 'I definitely will......' This man is very strange indeed, all this while he has been speaking he didn't even take a single glance at me and he wouldn't even let me talk.I have so many questions I want to ask and I want to ask him to please grant my request of waiting a little while before consummating our marriage but all I get now is his back to my face as he stares out the window. The cheering of the crowd as we passed the streets of Wincosin made me feel welcomed by the people,it seemed to me that my husband is a good king for every street we passed the people kept chanting his name.'Long live the king' as loud as they could but all this is nothing compared to what I saw before me.The Castle stood elegantly on its own.I have never seen anything so graceful before, all my life I had lived in a castle but this superseded any like it.A bridge lead to the castle and underneath the bridge was a river,a huge gate with the kingdom's logo encrusted on the gate. The palace looked old like it had seen the beginning of time, the stone walls looked polished and it glittered in the sun. 'Do you like it' 'Like what your highness?' 'The castle' 'Yes I do it's beautiful' 'That's expected, everyone thinks the same of the castle it's beauty is one to behold and let's not be so formal with each other after all we are married now,my lady'he said emphasising on the married. Now it's official the post of the most arrogant and proud person I have ever come across has now been transferred from my brother Oliver to king Stephen of Wincosin.
