My eyes slowly open to the sound of the door slamming shut and I raise my head to listen better, also glancing at the clock as I do. It’s 12:30 a.m. Who could it be and why did they slam the door? I hear rushing footsteps coming toward our bedroom and I shake Fionn, waking him up.
“Fionn! Wake up! Someone’s in the house,” I whisper yell, panicking, and he raises his head confused, still half asleep. I repeat that someone’s in the house and just then the footsteps stop in front of our bedroom door, causing me to sit upright and put on the bedside lights. Fionn gets off the bed, but just then, the handle twists open, and Kayden? Walks inside.
“Where are you-” I start to ask where he's coming from also getting off the bed. B
