School dragged, just a normal day of being called a freak, a goth and a weirdo. It’s not even like i try to be different, it’s just what I look like, I can’t help being pale and having natural black hair, I have always wanted to dye it but my mom won’t let me, she always says that I’ll regret it and it’ll take forever to grow out.
It’s now 7pm, I had to stay late at school to catch up with some assignments because I am behind with my work, since it’s my senior year of school it very important that I keep up with my school work.
On my way home i decided to stop and get some food, it’s been hours since i last ate and I’m really starting to feel the hunger. I ordered a cheese burger from a small restaurant in town, it’s was great to finally eat something other than school food.
As I left the restaurant I noticed it had gotten dark outside which is unusual for Marfa at this time of year. The summer heat had disappeared and in it’s place was a chilly windy night. I walked down the road, not a person in sight, I am 40 minutes away from home. I know a short cut which will get me home quicker but it means going through a weird part of town, my mum says I should never go there at night because it’s not safe, especially with all the people going missing recently, but what’s the chances of this happening to me, I mean my life is boring.
I start walking down a long narrow ally way, feeling slightly uncomfortable about being alone at night, while no one else is around, but it’s too late to turn around and go back, I actually want to get home before 9pm.
“Hey you” called a person from behind me, I looked around and saw no one, starting to panic I decided to look forward and just keep walking, as I made it out of the dark ally way in to a large empty street the voice called again “hey you wait up” I looked around and saw a figure standing in the distance, this time in front of me, confused and scared I shouted back “yes, who are you? What do you want?” The figure started walking towards me, I panicked even more, unsure what was about to happen, I started running away. I ran as fast as I could down the street when the figure suddenly appeared in front of me, I stopped suddenly, the figure approached me, “stay still and don’t panic” the figure ordered me while slowly walking forward, finally entering under the street light and I see the person in front of me is a tall female with long red hair, everything about her is perfect, she’s flawless. After hearing her speak to me I instantly felt at ease, although deep down I knew I should have been terrified, but I couldn’t help it, something about her seemed so calming, like I was safe.
She slowly got closer to me, I couldn’t move.
She leapt forward and grabbed me by my neck, terror consumed me, the world around me disappeared, all I could think was that I was going to die. In the light of the street lamp I could see her face change, she went from beautiful to terrifying, her eyes changed from an emerald green to black, her teeth were long and sharp, and with a swift movement she sunk her teeth into my neck, the pain radiated around my neck and moved down my back, I could feel the life draining out of me, the excruciating pain, “ hurry up I have places to be” a deep male voice called from behind, for a second I thought I was saved till I realised they knew each other.
The attack didn’t stop for what seemed like a lifetime. I could feel myself becoming light headed, i was unable to stand, the only thing keeping me up was her tight grip on my body. Suddenly she stopped, and looked back, although my vision was blurry I got a slight glimpse of the male stood behind her, he was tall, with short dark hair, he didn’t look real, everything about him was perfect, his features, his clothes, the way walked over. He was the most handsome man I had ever laid my eyes on, for a second I had forgotten about the fear and the pain, and everything seemed like a distant memory.
The woman let her grip on me go and I fell the the floor in agony bringing me back to reality, in that moment the man appeared in front of me, looking at me as if I was road kill, with pity, yet not so much that he cared. He leant down so that he was face to face with me, he looked into my eyes and laughed, “ do you think we should?” He said to the woman stood next to him, “ If we do she’s your problem” she replied. At that moment he grabbed me by the neck and pulled me up, sinking this teeth into my already painful wound, making the pain unbearable, I screamed out for help, but no one is around, I am alone.
The dizziness increases and I start to lose consciousness.
