Darren POV:
While Derek tear through the attackers like whirlwind, I focus on those who slip through his line of defense, fighting with every ounce of strength I have.
Derek seems distracted, his attention divided. Part of him is on the battlefield and the other is focus on Alessia, wanting to protect her as well as defending his territory.
Suddenly, one of the attackers lunges for Derek's blind side. My instincts kicks in before I even think, and I leap into its path. We collide almost midair, and I feel it's claws rake across my sides, pain searing through me. But I can't slow down, else Derek will be in danger. With a savage snarl, I charge towards it again, lunges at it, sinking my teeth into its neck and twist in one stroke and it went limp.
