“Mom, why did you guys agree with this man’s lunatic idea!?” Aria had been on the phone with her parents for almost an hour. Apparently, he did tell them everything, and not just that but he had hotwired them a total of a hundred thousand dollars to keep everything normal. Aria was aggravated now; she couldn’t fathom why her parents had accepted the money in the first place. She stood out in the hallway with the landline telephone in her ear, pacing the floor.
“Sweetheart, he seems like a really nice guy. He’s got a job and can take care of you. He’s even agreed to pay all your student loan debts.”
