Chapter 24 Dirk felt as if he was leading a parade as they headed north the next morning. Not a close knit parade. He’d made certain the others understood they were to stay spaced out and sometimes change positions. The last thing they needed was to make it obvious they were traveling together. “At least it’s not snowing at the moment,” Maverick commented. “Colder than a well digger’s ass though.” He shivered, reaching over to turn up the heat. “It’ll get worse before it gets better,” Dirk replied. “Bite your tongue.
