THE MEDIA STORM BROKE about ten in the morning. We’d been at the station for a few hours running the evidence when a beat cop yelled to turn on the news. And there it was. The Hoarder murder scene in all its gory detail was plastered over the TV screen. Complete with the rubbish pile and s*x doll going down on The Hoarder. It was a goddamn circus!
‘Jesus Christ!’ exploded Delaney. ‘Where the f**k did that come from?’
‘Mimi must have been wearing a hidden camera!’ I exclaimed.
‘Find her. And get her back in here. Right now! And charge her with obstruction of justice. Goddamn media think they can run the world!’ shouted Delaney as he slammed his office door in fury.
