Rowan's POV I dismissed the first dream as a coincidence, mostly because the alternative explanation felt too strange to properly entertain. An argument, sharp but affectionate, about something inconsequential I couldn't quite remember by morning, Mira's expression vivid enough that I woke with her voice still echoing faintly in my ears. I'd assumed, reasonably enough, that my own mind had simply conjured the image, some natural extension of how much time we'd been spending together lately, nothing more significant than ordinary thoughts bleeding into ordinary sleep.
