I cook breakfast for the house the next morning, hoping to make some sort of amends with Cooper without actually having to apologize—something I feel firmly that I should not have to do. Julia, Max, and Dean partake, but Cooper is nowhere to be found.  I start to fear the worst—that he went back to Aidan’s last night after I heard that door slam—and Dean seems to sense it.
