The Clock Ticks Backwards.

I scoured the battlefield through the tree line searching for any glimpse of a human in our midst. Then I spotted the across the field exiting the tree line and walking towards the frozen battle. "Shit." I breathed. I focused my power to listen in on their conversation. "Whoa, what the hell is this?" one of them asked. "I told you! It's crazy!" The other shouted with excitement. "Quick, we need to tell Bill and Ray about this. They're going to freak out!" They both began running back to the tree line chuckling and muttering conversation with excitement. "Oh goodness!" I sighed. "Any chance you could cloak them?" Ajax asked. I thought about it. I had no idea. "Worth a try." I shrugged and raised my hands into the air. I closed my eyes and focused my mind on cloaking the battlefield from prying human eyes. A glow began shining from my hands and light shot out over the battlefield, lighting the entire field up and disappearing. "Did it work?" He asked. I shrugged my shoulders in response to him. "I can still see the battle," he said. He sighed. "We will have to wait for them to come back to know if it worked or not. I focused on shielding them from human eyes, not our eyes." I explained. He nodded. "So, we will wait," he said. The pair of us sat hidden in the tree line across from where the humans came from. We waited here, assuming they would come from the same place they did last time. The sky began to turn dark and we were wondering if they were going to come back at all. Then I heard Ajax deeply inhale. His sense of smell was incredible. I didn't have to wait too long this time as the tree line glowed up with torches. "They're here." He whispered. I focused my energy again on listening to their conversation. "They were right here!" The two from earlier pleaded, as the field must have looked nothing more than an empty field to them. "I knew it sounded too far fetched to be truthful." One of the new humans spat. "We saw them right here, a field full of them in all different battle positions." They pleaded again. "Maybe you should lay off the narcotics weasel. Pull a stunt like this again with me and you wont see tomorrow." The other new human scoffed, dragging both of the witnesses by their hair back into the tree line. We waited for the glow of the torches to disappear and then let a huge synchronized sigh of relief out. "Come my Queen, It's getting late. We can sort this out tomorrow." He held out his hand and I took it. "We will get there faster if I carry you. You don't want to shred your clothes again." he grinned. I tutted at him and crossed my arms. He grabbed me and threw me over his shoulders in response. "Put me down!" I ordered. Hitting his back. "No can do." He laughed and began carrying me back. Chapter 6 Ajax P.O.V I woke to the sweet smell of freshly cut roses. "Mhmm." I groaned and nuzzled my face into Aurora's hair. What I would give to wake up to this everyday, I thought. I gazed down upon my sleeping mate. She was perfect in every way and she was mine. I sat up carefully trying not to wake her. I needed to develop a strategic plan to protect her. Slowly, I raised myself out of bed, pulling my clothes on, then quietly I then crept out of the tent. I began to stroll through the forest mulling thoughts and ideas over, when, suddenly, a feminine voice echoed through my mind, startling me. "Penny for your thoughts?" Her voice was soft and sweet but I didn't recognize it. "Who are you?" I thought hard, trying to link back. "Don't try too hard to link, let it happen naturally. Focus on my voice and think about your response." She purred into my mind. I cleared my mind and focused on her advice. Naturally thinking about my response, I repeated it again. "Who are you?" "That's it! Well done, you will get better with time. I'm Sapphire." She replied. "How are you doing this? Wolves can only link their human spirit." I questioned. "Don't be so naive, Ajax. You know well enough by now that I am not a normal wolf." Her voice was stern but not angry, as she growled softly into my mind. "With you being a vampire, you have no wolf spirit sharing your consciousness. It allows me to connect with you too, but only when she's sleeping. Now listen to me carefully, Ajax. Aurora isn't safe. I feel a vast darkness coming in the future. You need to be careful. Protect her, always. Keep this to yourself, Aurora mustn't know. " Her voice now almost fearful. "What is coming, Saph? How do I keep her safe?" My mind felt empty and I gained no response. "Saph?" I tried again. Nothing. "What are you doing all the way out here?" Aurora's melodic voice came from behind me. "Ahh," I softly sighed inwardly. "Just thinking, my love." "Oh? What about?" She questioned. I turned to face her, stepping towards her. I held out to hold both of her hands, she placed them both in mine. "We need to think of a plan, Aurora. We cannot just unfreeze our armies and go back to our lives, playing happy families." My voice soft. She gazed into my eyes, her brow furrowing slightly and she began to think. I released one of her hands to tuck a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "I can't let anything happen to you, Aurora. You are my entire world now." I added softly. I trailed my hand down from her ear and stroked the mark I gave her. "Do you think you could cloak our marks from supernatural eyes?" I suggested, earning a deeper frown from her. "Are you ashamed of our bond?" She growled. "Not at all, my love, I want nothing more than to show you off to the world as mine. You yourself know it would be suicide. " I cupped her chin softly between my finger and thumb. "If anyone from your realm saw your mark they would have you executed before they even give you a chance to explain it." My eyes grew dark at the very thought. She pondered my face for a moment deep in thought. "So, you want me to hide our marks and then what?" She finally asked. I haven't figured that far ahead yet." I shrugged. "If our bond is a secret, then we will have to separate and go back to our realms." She admitted, sadness in her tone. I thought about it for a moment. I didn't want to be away from her, not even for a second, but if it meant keeping her safe, I would do it. I would do anything. "My love, I know the thought of us being apart saddens you. It saddens me too. But I would do anything to keep you safe and, right now, any knowledge of our bond would put you in direct danger. I'm not going to let that happen. Hiding our bond will give us time to convince the Elders to change your Laws." I earned myself a pout from Aurora. She looked deflated and, to be honest, I felt it too. "We need to unfreeze the battle and intervene immediately. My best friend is in a death grip on that battlefield. I cannot bare to loose her." Her voice faltered as if she were going to cry. "It's a pity you can't turn time back to when you first entered the tent. We could settle the truce properly and no battle would ever have begun to take place." I merely suggested the idea with curiosity in my voice. "There was no truce planned on our part. I was going to slaughter you in that tent." She admitted and her voice soft with sadness. He looked away from my gaze. "Besides, I have never tried to do anything like that, yet, I have never done the things I have done these past couple of days either. It feels like anything is possible." She admitted with confidence. " If you could take time back to that point, we wouldn't raise any suspicions. You could settle the truce before the ambush begins. Tell your people you've had a change in heart." I pointed out the fact. "How would I convince them? If you hadn't of beheaded my people and filled my room with their decaying heads there would never have been question to accepting the truce." She growled. "I have done no such thing, Aurora! You have to believe me." I pleaded, my voice showing I was confident that I had no knowledge of such horror's. She stared at me for a moment in deep thought. "What if time travel erases our memories? We would be stuck in an endless loop. I'm no expert on time travel but I can see the obvious flaw." She raised a good point. The past couple of days with Aurora have been incredible, dare I say the best in my sorry existence so far, but I would like to find out what happens on our journey. I thought deeply about the outcome and then an idea came to me. "What if you tested it first?" I asked. She looked at me with a puzzled expression on her face. "What if you tried focusing on restarting today?" I suggested. She fell silent for a moment. Mulling the thought over in her head. "I could try." She finally replied after putting much thought into it. "Just, give me a moment, okay?" She asked. I stared at her, trying to anticipate what she was going to do next. She stilled, then her eyes glazed over. Ahh, she was talking to Sapphire about it, I assumed. I watched as she paced back and forth with glazed eyes clearly in some deep debate with her wolf. She sighed. Stopped pacing and turned to face me. "Alright." She said in a final tone and without any warning she paced towards me. Wrapping her arms around me and pulling me into a deep intimate kiss. I wrapped my arms tightly around her and devoured her lips. The wind began to howl around us and my entire body started to tingle. - Aurora P.O.V "Aurora." A seductive voice flowed through my mind. "Aurora." There it was again, only louder. Waking me from my slumber. "Aurora!" I half opened my eyes to see Ajax grinning widely at me after finally being able to wake me. It took me a moment to realize we were back in his bed in the tent. "I remember." I mumbled, confirming that I had knowledge of our time travel. "Me too," he added. "I was sort of hoping it wouldn't." I admitted "This means we have to part ways, doesn't it?" I felt deflated. "We will be together again, Aurora, and, when we are, I will never let you go." His soft and seductive voice stirred my arousal. Without saying anything more, he pulled me on top of him, obliging the arousal that seeped through our bond. We made love for what seemed like hours. Ravishing each others desires. If we were to part ways, I wanted my very fill of him. I loved the way our bodies entwined, we were perfectly made for one another. After love-making, we lie in each other's embrace, cherishing our last moments together. Sadness floods our bond. I wished we could just stay like this forever and, although it was incredible, I longed to have this forever with my family and friends by my side. I dreamed of two realms combined and our happily ever after. We needed to part ways for now, however, to get to the end result. "Come on my sweet. It's time." I pouted at his words and climbed out of bed. He followed after me, and as both of us dressed I noticed a small flaw in our plan. "My clothes," I muttered. I looked nothing like I did on that night. I gestured to all of myself. "Try using your powers." He Suggested. I rolled my eyes at him. "Is that going to be your answer for everything," I teased, earning nothing but a chuckle from him. "You can be my guinea pig." I stated, causing him to stop laughing immediately. I waved my hand over him, light beginning to glow from my palm. His hair began to comb back neatly and his clothes freshened before my eyes. "Handsome." I boasted, watching him as he shivered. "That felt strange." He admitted, earning a chuckle from me. I began to wave my hand above my own head, the glow emanating from my palm once more. My hair began plaiting itself and my curls raised. My shirt turned cream in colour and a red corset began to form on me, tightening itself up. My trousers turned black and looked almost new and my boots did the same. My makeup lightly enhances my features as it did before. Ajax stood staring at me in awe like a dumbfounded fool. "My beautiful Queen." He eventually spoke. I blushed. "Come, my Queen." He raised his arm for me to hold and lead me back out of the tent and into the forest. Our walk back to the battlefield was silent, we both wanted this and didn't all at the same time. As we arrived at the edge of the tree line, I stopped Ajax and turned him to face me. I placed my hand over his mark and my other hand over my own. Closing my eyes, I focused on hiding our marks. My palms glowed against our skin and when I lifted my hands after the glow had stopped, our marks were gone. I stroked my hand over where Ajax's mark used to be. I could feel the mark but I couldn't see it. "How bizarre." I said, causing Ajax to feel his neck and then my neck. "They're only cloaked, I suppose, so don't let anyone touch your neck anytime soon." I added. "I can assure you no one will be going near my neck, my love." He replied reassuringly. We both turned to face the tree line, the sun's rays peaking through towards us. "Before we go," I paused "How is it that you can walk around in daylight?" I asked. Ajax laughed. "The sun burning us is nothing but a myth. When humans began hunting us, we spread the rumor ourselves to divert suspicions. We were not bothered about garlic either." He whispered to me. I laughed at how clever that was. "Come," he added. "Quit stalling." He winked at me, holding my hand and pulling me through the tree line towards the battlefield. Once we were through the tree line we made our way to the center of the battlefield where our tent used to be. "How do you want to do this, Aurora?" He asked me, stroking his hand down the side of my face. "Like this." I replied. "I love you." I whispered under my breath before grabbing him and pulling him into me once more and kissing him deeply. I enjoyed our longing kiss for a moment before beginning the process. The wind began to pick up and hurl around us. A bright white light was emitted from us. Tingles spread through my entire body.
