Episode One: The Message from the Past

The rain had only just ended, leaving the streets of Bellwood shining beneath the fading evening light.

Amara stood near the abandoned railway station, holding a small wooden box she had discovered among her grandmother’s possessions. She had never seen the box before, yet something about it made her reluctant to open it.

Inside, she found an old photograph.

It showed a young couple standing beneath a magnificent mango tree. The man looked happy, while the woman wore a familiar smile Amara had seen countless times in her grandmother’s photographs.

Amara turned the picture over.

Three handwritten words immediately caught her attention:

“Wait for me, Amara.”

Her breath caught.

Why had someone written her name on a photograph taken decades before she was born?

Beneath the photograph was a carefully folded note.

My promise was never abandoned. Circumstances simply forced it into silence.

Amara read it again and again.

Her grandmother had always refused to discuss her youth. Whenever Amara asked about the mysterious photograph, her grandmother would change the subject.

Now there was no one left to ask.

Desperate for answers, Amara returned home and searched through an old trunk.

At the bottom, beneath layers of clothing, she discovered a weathered journal.

The final entry was dated forty years earlier.

It contained only one sentence:

“Tomorrow, I will tell Amara everything.”

But tomorrow had never come.

And Amara suddenly needed to discover why.
