Chapter 28: Proposal
The General walked toward me and led me to the center. My father and Madam Andrea were looking serious as they observe us both. Madam Andrea was still frugal when it comes to her smiles, but her face softened in a little while.
My father the President turned to me. As custom, we hold each other's hands. I couldn't help but feel my father's firm but shaky hands. His calm and sharp voice couldn't disguise the overwhelming emotions within him when he looked at me. If it were just me and him then I could've plead for him to put a stop at this madness and ask him to take me with him to go home to the countryside where we could be happy together for the rest of our lives.
