He turned to me with his eyes getting cold again.
His eyes lightened up again as he laughed softly. I grew curious. “Kendra? Honestly? Having Kendra around to spite you must've worked."
My jaw dropped. “You really do strategize with everything? But I tell you! Your strategy with me getting jealous over your relationship with Kendra didn't work because…well it's not as if we're in love!"
“Maybe I won. Maybe I failed." The General just smirked a little. Oddly, I find myself smirking the same way too. Could it be that the cold and strategic General could actually feel a little bit of affection for me?
I should have said something more but then a pull at the end of my fishing rod abruptly stopped me. “Oh my gosh! I think I just caught a fish!"
