The next morning after they’d huddled on the floor together, Damian wakes to the sound of Aurora shouting, and immediately, he’s alert. “Wha…?”
Rushing to his feet, he takes in the sight in front of him.
The guards have come back for them, reaching for Aurora’s chains as the omega fights them off, but unlike his cellmate, the scents of these alphas are calm for the first time.
Then he takes in the sight of the blankets in one of the guards’ arms, and he starts to realize something.
“Hey,” he says, trying to reach her, but he can’t quite do it in his chains, can’t reach her from where she’s kicking and screaming in the corner. “Hey!”
